Orbital Ambush

    Orbital Ambush is a map set on the Level Avalanch. Along the border to the edge of the map there is a large Space Cruiser (the Cruiser does NOT in anyway pertain to the Halo game space vehicles, it is just what my mid has made it).
    This Cruiser has 2 main levels, the bottom Hangar Bay, this holds two banshees and one Hornet (along with a few weapons). The middle level consists of three sections; The Cockpit/ Sniper Post, the central area, and the engine room. There is also an additonal section atop the ship for “Point Defenseâ€.
    The Cockpit is a small area with a sniper, there is a small sightline viewing the middle of the field that provides formiddable cover, and a great sniper post, the main area has weapons and objects scattered about, and the engine room has a few weapons and a large group of explosives. The top section has 2 turrets and a rocket spawn.
    The next area is the land between the ship and the Attacker spawn are, I like to call this area “No Mans Land†for absolutely no reason at all except for the fact that its in the middle. So yeah. It has a tank with NO view into the hanger, but is meant for defense against either teams airborn units.
    And lastly, there is the Attacker Spawn. This area is (you geussed it) the Attacker team’s spawn area! They respawn here as well. When they spawn they go through the man cannon to the weapons area, get their weapons and equipment, and then proceed to the vehicles (one Hornet, and two Banshees) to engage the enemy in combat.
    This map is territory based, there are seven of them;
    1. Ship Cockpit
    2. Engine Room
    3. Main Ship Area
    4. Hangar
    5. Top Section
    6. Above the Engine Room
    7. “No Mans Landâ€​

    I know that there are maps similar to this but of better quality, this is my first time making a map like this. The map has not been tested so I dont know how things operate.
    EDIT: Tested with 6 people (varied every couple of minutes) and it played ok, the attacking and defending teams were both pretty much balanced. I have yet to play it with a large party however.​

    well first off, i would test a map before posting it, that way you can smooth out any major flaws before it gets to the community, second, i would interlock the ship so that it looks neater and functions better

    It's a great idea, but just not pulled off effectively. It's pretty crooked.

    However, I gotta say, awesome post.

    This is kind of funny. I've honestly never seen a ship made out of multicolored boxes. As for the map, needs more interlocking. Besides that, it checks out fine. Congratulations on your first forgehub map! A fine one too!

    The map looks good but the ship should look more neat.

    I definitely liked the idea, but I think for something like this interlocking is a necessity. It will make the map look a ton better to have things smoothed out.

    Also, maybe instead of having teleportals you could have the attacks launch from mancannons. Avalanche has mancannons, right? I don't mean those big ones.

    I love your idea... If you need help in interlocking and making things smooth out... give me a game inv or send me a Private message... I Really want to see this map work...

    I appreciate the input, but I get the fact that I need to interlock things. Some different criticism would be good.

    It looks very nice but some interlocking is..... kidding. It is needed but also too many teleporters. Mainly I hate teleporters. I think you should use man cannons and the air vehicles to get into it. Teleporters look ugly..... Unless it is use for an aesthetic purposes.

    I don't like teleportals that much. Mancannons would probably work fairly well.

    i saw this the other day but forgot to post
    to me this map seems sloppy and easy for the defenders
    from what i saw
    but i havent played it yet so dont take anything i say straight to remaking the map

    Its actually pretty balanced, and thanks for posting :)

    And I would like to use other things but the barrier was there so if i did use cannons, then you would just bounce off the barrier and fall to your death.

    Good job on your first post/map!
    Interlocking is needed, as said before, but looks relatively good.

    But everyone please keep in mind, this is not my first map just my first map of this nature or style. But yeah that was my first post here :)

    i really love space ship maps and this one looks just as good as any other one. although yes it does need to be neater but i can hardly say i'm good at interlocking myself. in fact, i suck at interlocking, so i can hardly blame you for not interlocking.

    not only do teleporters look ugly, but they lead to camping, and in a map as big as this, it's pretty hard to come from the other side :-X

    its not realy that neat and it dose need some more work done on it but i hope u do better later
