I can't honestly say that I even knew if I was going to post a preview for this map, and even so this early in construction, but since I have this week off I figured I'll have plenty of forging time giving me a lot to update. Basically, this is the 4v4 map of my last map pack, it's hugely inspired by Construct as you can see if you scroll down (not just yet tiger). My goals for this map are as follows. 1:Fix nade camping at lift. I can't tell you how sick I am of this. What I'm doing to fix this, is removing the purple lifts, and sticking a gold at either end to hold symmetry. And where closed street is, I'll have a ramp there as well as open street. 2: Be bad ass. 'Nuff said. 3: Have activity on the middle and bottom floors. Another thing that sickens me about Construct is the fact everything takes place on the upper ring, and my goal is to have it spread out. I really like it. Kinda of makes me want to forge something like it, It's quite inspiring, just that little bit.
You could really revamp the regular construct with new spawns and weapons to change gameplay. Just be sure it is nothing like the original construct so people will think of it as a new map.
That won't solve a lot of problems, even if I did want to do that, there's absolutely no forging involved. And I'm not remaking construct, I'm forging a map inspired by it. You can already see I have 2 gold lifts.
Looks good so far, I'd like to see the underground portion of that, but I guess i'll just have to wait. How big it it exactly because construct is a pretty large map...
I'm liking it so far, but I think I've told you that I hate Construct with a passion. I just hope that this doesn't disapoint because looking at it now makes me want to play on it when it's finished.
Haha, if you read the text before the picture it explains that I'm going to see if I can mix it up a bit. For one, no nade camping since there will be ramps going up. That and I'm hoping everything won't rely along the upper most ring. You can see the general size already. It's not going to be fully scale with Construct, but it's not far off. It takes about the same amount of time to walk across the top as it does to walk from sword room to gold.
If at all possible for the upper levels i'd take inspiration from Citadel. Imagine the bottom being similar to Construct with the upper parts ( i mean Open purple and Closed purple) but with the added extra balcony. Also maybe a lowered middle section that floats. ----\____/---- With a gold lift on either side. That would be cool but hey i have no clue whats in your mind but judging from the looks of things you won't disappoint.
Yeah I think I see what you're trying to say :] I'll see what I could do about that, and the upper ring isn't that high compared to the original Construct. Another thing I wanted is people on the bottom being able to BR the players along the upper ring.
I like the project, just one ideia: You could create bases in each side, so symmetric games such as Multiflag could be possible. One more thing: make sure to create several SAFE ways to the top of the map, this way the top won't be as powerful as it is in Construct. And you could make a MLG version of it, it would be cool.
Yeah, I know what you're saying for the first part. I was actually thinking today how cool it would be to play like Multi Flag on Construct. I'll be sure to throw in those weird gametypes like that, don't worry. Yup, there's going to be at least 4 ways to the upper ring, 2 ramps, and 2 lifts. Unlike Construct which had 3 lifts and 1 ramp. And yes, this map is practically built for all those MLG fans out there :]
There's going to be those "secret" ramps as well though. Like how Construct has 2 going up to sword spawn, I'll have two going up to either lift receive.
Yeah, I'm totally making this map for Bungie I was going to submit it into atlas but I remembered it was budget glitched. It would've made a fine map for matchmaking.
