I'm trying to make an MLG map and I know there's a bunch of rules on making MLG maps. I know a lot of them, but i never am positive about a lot of things I'm making. So i was wondering if some of you all could just like give me a list of MLG standards I must meet and certain weapons and equipment I can't use
Umm, no vehicles, no equiment. Must have 4 bases. Weapon list is :BRs, maulers, snipers, rockets, plasma pistols, and carbines. That should be all. There's also some weird rule with fence boxes and using them as walls, I'm not entirely sure what it is. The MLG forums I'm sure has a thread stickied about this, you may want to check there.
Weapons you can use: Battle Rifle (BR) Human Sniper Rockets Mauler Plasma Pistol Carbine No equipment or vehicles. Use these gametypes: MLG TS MLG King MLG Ball MLG CTF Pit MLG CTF Narrows MLG CTF (5) MLG maps do not need 4 bases. Do not use fence boxes in any way that you would need to shoot through them. The bullets that hit is random and host can shoot through them more or less than non-hosts. Also, it changes on LAN, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue. EDIT: Orange beat me to the punch on the bases. EDIT 2: Read PulseKiller's post on the bottom of this page too.
4 bases, WHAT?! Please don't give people false information. You can have as many bases as necessary, even none. Fence objects aren't allowed because they aren't reliable to shoot through. You can use them to block off your map, but nowhere where people can shoot through.
Are you sure you don't need 4 bases? I could've sworn that was the rule, that's why Amp had four bases and... Hm...I must be mistaken.
there r be teh h1dden basezz uNd3r t3h mapp..... No,I always thought that it required 4 areas that could serve as bases. I'm not sure where I heard that, it was a while back. I guess I just fail.
Yeah, you don't need four bases by any means. All three forged maps in the circuit so far have been somewhat based on Midship, so that's where the 4-base thing came in. Don't use any movable objects. The only exceptions being things that are so heavy that they won't move, such as dumpsters.
Mainly just use whatever feels to you as competitive. There are no set rules, just a set of things that people know work. MLG is open to change, as long as it works well and is balanced.
