Ok, so I've had this awesome gametype and map idea for a while... basically, it's team slayer with a reaaal big twist. There are two big boxes, and two small boxes, all next to each other (look @ pics if confused)... The team's snipers(1 each) spawn in the small boxes and the big boxes contain the rest of the team. The objective of the sniper is to kill all the other team's members in the big box(each small box faces one big box) You may think "ah it's like duck hunt, GAY!" no, you are wrong, listen on... There is an objective for the people in the big box, let's call them Targets(t's for short). The T's will be given limited destructable cover(ie deployable cover, bubble shields, maybe barriers if made on foundry) and must survive until a certain amount of time(I was thinking about 1 minute to 3 minutes.) After this, stairs spawn leading to this upper platform... Each big box's side has an individual platform, with a fuelrod cannon on it, with this they must try to either kill the sniper themselves(who will be hiding away from the window by now) or shoot the object blocking the secret window between the team's snipers.... Confused? Pics will save you. \/\/\/ So that's the basic hand-drawn in ink pen concept XD I'll update with the actual progress as I forge... _________________________ Will update frequently, so check back!
So, duck hunt, but with unchanging teams, two sides, and no movement. The random teams in infection is more convenient, having one side keeps all players in on the fun, and moving gives the edginess that makes the game exciting. Duck hunt is a master of it's craft, twisting the game positively is tough. So, if you can't beat 'em join 'em.. or do something different.
This sounds like it could be a pretty cool gametype for players who just wanna have fun. I myself am a more competitive player, but I like these types of things every now and then. The only thing that confuses me is the picture, it that a bird's eye view or a side view?
Lol, sorry i did'nt clarify, the picture is birds eye view... And trust me, it will be as exciting as duck hunt, for both sides because the humans in the box will not only be moving tons, but there will be about 4 to 6 humans in each big box(depending on the player count) jumping around all over the place. The sniper battles will be epic, two snipers dueling it out... The one thing that I'm thinking about is whether or not we should let the boxed people fight each other, maybe we could make it VIP so if one team's sniper dies then the round ends? IDK...
a blob of people hopping around is NOT exciting, it's bad. Assuming you haven't described your idea 100%, and I mean 100% wrong, then I'd rather play Fat Kid. Which sucks, and makes me want to rape small children.
There is a significant spawn problem, at round start the same person will always spawn in the tower, as long as teams are the same. Duckhunt does this same thing but in a more interesting fasion, getting somewhere instead of waiting. Remakes are generally bad, especially if the original is bad.
First of all, duck hunt is cool! I don't know what you guys are talking about, duck hunt is pretty fun. SRC48, try it out, see how fun it is. The best way to learn is to actually expeirience it. Though I partially agree with you, you could have been less ruthless. Saying a game is worse that fat kid is pretty harsh.
haha thats ice cream man silly... Anyway, i agree that this will probably end up being an almost good version of duck hunt, but more of an epic fail than duck hunt ended up being.
