well then it must have been GoodWhaleSushi, and you've never seen Unchained!? go download it right now!
very impressive Ivory, I like your style, lol... Great presentation and great description as well, keep up the good work!
I spied this in Forge last night, and i have to say the the design and build quality are superb. My only gripe is that its very empty.
i was going to place some extra movable scenery but, as i said before, i forgot to use a money glitch map (won't be making that mistake again!) and i have no funds left for anything.
Your map is pretty good bro, keep up the good work. I enjoy this map cause it is chaotic. Through the chaos, we all end up bonding and become fast friends!
Amazing job. This definately kills Gradient and Empire, loads better because you have a better layout and more space to manuever.
thanks brute captain, i'm not sure if it can really stand up to those maps, but i love it all the same, and sushi, i knew someone said it.
This map looks great and its got my Download but i have one concern, in picture four it looks like this map cou;d be broken if there is a brute shot or some gernades in the map, is this possible or no?
I downloaded this yesterday because it looked really good. As soon as I was finished walking around it, I deleted it. Great job with interlocking and all that but your map is way too open. I could just imagine a lot of "GOD DAMMIT, I GOT SPAWN KILLED!" when playing on your map. Its a good map but its just too open.
That is basically what I thought too. I like the use of easy to name scenic points, but the map felt just like a smaller open arena in a big open box (foundry). It could use some scenic cover, like even a few crates, spools, and forklifts to make it less of a well forged, but still empty, map.
the different levels in map geometry means that in smaller games (2-4) you will never be able to spawn camp, in large games (5 players+) you may have the occasional spawn where you are near an enemy, but they will almost definitely be preoccupied fighting someone else and you will not get noticed. and in team games i have never had an instance of any spawn camping or killing ever. as for Kapuras statement, please read the previous posts, i have already explained that placing extra cover is impossible because i did not use a money glitched map, please look at the previous posts next time. y35, there is no way out of the map, and there is no brute shot either.
Well Ivory, I was just giving my first impressions of things that seem like they would go wrong. It should be noted that I still have the map and gametype you recommended, so if I get around to it I will play the game and see how it plays, although with a recommended max party of 5 you seem to be limiting your options. But I digress, and will return here when I get new data.
thank you Kapura, and i'm sorry if i came off as aggro or overly defensive. why would there be a soccer ball?
Yeah, I tried a 1v1 and 2v3 on this map and no spawn kills. But, if you play Empire of Gradient with 1v1 and 2v3 or 2v2, spawn kills are what you will get. Both Gradient and Empire, however popular and good looking they may be, aren't really ideal for any serious gameplay, they are both flawed in design. I found myself being able to rest atop certain places and *bam!*, as soon as people spawned grenades were in there face and they were pepperd with AR bullets. But on Fractured, didn't happen. Of course it could happen with a larger party, but then again, it isn't intended for larger parties.
I finally got a chance to check this out in Forge. It looks great. I didn't see any problems from the Forge-through. This is a GGG map (I just coined a new term). "Gotta Getta Game" meaning that I'm saving it till I can actually play a match on it. EDIT: There is a door that does not spawn at start at the top of the closed in hallway. People can get out. Ok, I got to play a match and it was a lot of fun. Great job on the map. But I did have a few very minor issues with it. First, there was no real cover down low near the needler. Did you ever consider something small to add somewhere to hide? Perhaps an A/B Sign placed on the bottom edge of the fence box would poke through the wall at just the right height to add some cover. Second, I wish there was a little more weapon variety. A couple times I was down low and looking for something besides the needler or the SMG. Maybe just another spiker or SMG down there would make duel wielding easier to accomplish and would allow more options for someone looking to use something besides the AR. Third, At one point I got hung up on that A Sign up high as I was trying to back away from the plasma rifle spot and get away from an attacker. The sign sticks out a little and it frustrated me a tad as I was trying to get away. (Don't worry, I lived). Is the sign necessary? Could it be interlocked or anything to make that less of an issue? Anyway, like I said, those are all minor issues. Overall I had a blast on my first game of Fractured. Great job.
ok, i am working on a new weapon placement, hopefully it will add a bit more variety, ii just wanted to keep it safe for my first choices, aas for the non spawn on start door, thank you for notifying me and it shall be fixed, the a sign is necessary because it would otherwise be possible to grenade jump out of the map, but i shall attempt to interlock it better, and with new weapon placement, i hope to have enough funds to add some extra cover. thank you for your feedback Brute Cpt, i did not find it on empire like i did on gradient, but i never really played a proper game on empire. as for having a little more variety, what did you have in mind? was that as in less main stream weapons like the BR? or just move the weapons around and mix it up?
