Well I already made a thread about this on Bnet and I wanted the forge communitie's opinions, so just post there and vote yes or no after reading the first post and other posts.

Here is the thread: Bungie.net : Halo: Reach Forum : Attatching Small Forge Objects To Vehicles

A lot of people like the idea and we can maybe get Bungie to put it in Reach if we get enough support.

you realize that if they included this it would me more like a racing game in the sense that you can upgrade vehicles, rather than an FPS. I like the idea I'm just not sure it should be implemented into Halo: Reach or any Halo game for that matter.

No, no, no. This is not making your own vehicle or making it go faster. This is simply attaching forge objects to vehicles, sure you can create racing gametypes with that but you always could.

No way.. reading through that original post, i felt like the whole halo community has spent all summer in a crack factory!

Think about it. What isit that allows you to strategically pick a warthog over a mongoose? It has more defence.. it has a weapon.. It has more seats.
In CTF you can have someone grabbing the flag, one person driving, one person outgunning. A mongoose is built for speed and speed alone. Its a reconaissance vehicle. Its sole purpose is to get you from here to there quickly. Its not designed to carry 3 people on it by strapping a camping stool to it, and it certainly doesnt have the room to mount a machine gun turret on it.

If the problem you have with halo is you have 3 friends and you cant all get in the same vehicle. play Covies and get in a specter. Dont come up with some ridiculous idea that just wouldnt work, and if bungie did put it in, would make the game look horribly retarded.

Also putting a gravlift on the under side of a hog isnt going to make the warthog a "HoverHog" as someone stated. its just gonna make a useless vehicle that cant move and houses three people.

i think its a great idea. And for the people that say that it will be more like a racing game than a fps your wrong. These forge items can only be attached in forge and there for have no affect on matchmaking unlesss bungie creates a variant of one of the maps (sniper town, mlg ons etc) and included a upgraded vehicle.I think its a great idea and will only make the game better by adding more options a player can use while forging, all it does is open up more windows to want we can do.

Andwhat about implementing some of these ideas for minigames or casuals? Has that crossed anyone's mind yet? Anyways, there's no actual proof yet that Reach will even have forge, but if it does, i hope this is one of the features.

Actually, tbh this is something that I wish halo 3 had.

I read some of your replies from the post on Bnet. And they had some pretty decent idea. The one that interested me the most was attaching blocks or wedges to a banshee and add a turret, and you would have some kind of pelican! Maybe this isn't a bad idea for forge. It will open so many doors to new forge techniques, and the things you could make could virtually be endless.

I thought of a couple more things to make by this:
    A plane
A Boat(attach a grav lift to a mongoose in water, and it just might float)
    New vehicles
Elephant (If the elephant isn't in reach, who says we just cant make own!)
New minigames involoving teleporters or man cannons!

This would be like an oppertunity to make a forged skin onto any vehicle you wanted! Before you put this idea down, just use your imagination a little more!

That could actually be awesome! You could build a Covenant ship around a Banshee and have a flyable Covenant ship!

some transport hogs would be nice. i think its a good idea. it'd make forge some much more versitile than it already is.

You DO realize I'm suggesting this for forge mode/customs and not matchmaking.....right? And how can you say how a warthog with gravity lifts under it would work, obviously they are going to change the the physics for Reach so you don't know.

I do agree with this guy. If the Grav Lift was attached to the Warthog, the Warthog would hover because it would move the grav lift, which in turn would lift the Warthog. Don't diss the Mongoose, it's more maneuverable and faster than the Warthog, and can play on maps to small for Warthogs. Also, with the new glitch, you can make motorboats on longshore using Mongeese! Warthogs are too fat, they sink. And if Bungie did change the forge physics, i'll bet more people would buy the game.

I think i understand what you're asking for. All vehicles being like the Elephant? Like, you can place an immovable object on the vehicle, and it stays on the vehicle, and moves with it?

Cause a warthog with another turret would be so badass...

This reminds me alot of Garry's Mod.

I like the idea for forge and custom games but never in any kind of matchmaking.

People would make ridiculously, over-powered god cars ha ha

So really, you'd want bungie to work their arses off for a small feature in forge which allows you to glue movable and immovable items on vehicles? And after you've done that, you either dont do anything with it and remain in forge and just get bored, or you play a few customs until everyone gets bored with the concept and starts dreaming up more retarded ideas?

What your asking for basically, is a complete waste of time.

Why not just ask for new vehicles in reach?

regarding the hover hog....have you ever flipped a grav lift over upside down on the ground..if you have then you know that the grav lift dosent puch away form the ground there for it would have no effect on the hog maybe in reach but it will never happen

Your looking at this concept as if noobs will get a hold of this feature and use it to make stupid things. Think of the people who could use this feature to good use!

As iv'e said before, what if a good forger attatched a few blocks and wedges to a banshee(if you could interlock stuff on the banshee) then it would make a nice asethetic(flyable) pelican!

Use your imagination! This could revelutionize forge!

Awesome idea man. I hope its added or atleast something that would fix the below:

Just so you know I have actually had a similar idea in my mind for about a year. But my goal was actually more toward using blimp glitch as a base for the movement since the blimp glitch is actually a currently existent thing in halo.

The problem I have with the idea of this is the fact that moveables disappear after a lil bit, it only works on last resort, and I would need a lot more flexibility with grav lifts. Which means more grav lifts allowed to be spawned and somehow control an order in which the grav lifts had to spawn.

I was considering making a moblie scarab like this and thats why I need control over grav lifts, because say I wanted the same movement style as the regular one, I basically need a way to cause one leg to spawn its grav lift, and then after that the next leg gets its lift, then the next one, etc. Plus having it reset itself. But other than the above problems, I don't even have halo 3 or a 360 T_T

It shouldn't be too hard at all for Bungie to add, in fact thats one of the highlights of this whole idea. You simply select and object, chose to attach it and then chose what spot on the vehicle.

I want new vehicles of course, but this would add meta game, thats like saying "why do you need forge, its just a waste of time, we just need new maps."
