After reading the first few paragraphs of the Bungie Weekly Update, I found: and: Also, Bungie did capitalize Ivory Tower in their original paragraph, so I'm guessing they're hinting at something here. Also, Buck and Cortana might make an appearance, although I think this is somewhat obvious. Just thought I'd let you know.
Ivory Tower while yes it is a Halo 2 map, is also the name for Marty's recording studio at Bungie's HQ. Buck is Nathan Fillion and its pretty obvious he will get a role in Reach since he and Marty are like BFFs, if that role will be Buck or not remains to be seen however it is possible since the game does say that Buck was on Reach.
I think it's safe to say that Buck and his old squad will be in Reach, as you can infer from this picture: The armour on each of the beings in the picture is much closer to the armour of the ODST (or Marines for that matter) than the Spartans MJOLNIR Mark V. It's most noticeable on the center figure by looking closely at the leg armour. Only time will tell if what I'm theorizing is right, however.
Two things. One: Middle guy, obviously a spartan with Halo Wars armor. Two: What do you call that beast on the far left?
Thought I explained that but I guess I forgot. The one on the left (being as ridiculously huge as he is) would most likely be a Spartan. Also; Compare the leg armor and helmets between the figures and the Spartans MJOLNIR Mark IV in the picture. The only one that resembles the above picture as close as possible would be the figure on the far left. The figures height also helps prove that the people who are on the right are either Marines or ODST's considering that Spartans average out to be seven feet tall while a human would average out to be around five and a half to six feet tall.
They all look roughly the same size IMO. The shortest is the one next to the huge one and that's looks to be a female Spartan. Also, if you look closely, they all look like they have traits of the Mark IV armor w/ different attachments on their heads & chests. Oh, one more thing: a friendly elite on Reach? Really guys?
That would be sweet! Ivory Tower is still my favorite map to date. I really hope they bring it back. That would be sweet!
Gender is irrelevant when it comes to their size. They all come out to the same height because they don't have specially made armor just for them. On the cover of Halo Wars (as well as in game) one of the Spartans is female and they are all the same height in their armor. They can't all be Spartans because one is obviously bigger than the rest of them (the one on the far left.) Also, in Halo 3, compare the size of Master Chief to the Marines in game. He's a roughly a head taller than them, just like the Spartan on the far left in the picture. Also, the only customization done to each individual Spartan armour that has been seen thus far in the Halo main story is in Halo Wars with each Spartan having their own symbol on the shoulders of their armour and one having red stripes on his chest and helmet. Those attachments can obviously not be distinguished in a silhouette. The only way I can see all of them being Spartans is if they are brand new characters that don't use the Mark V armor variant, which replaced Mark IV for Master Chief and his Spartans a day before Reach.
He is one of the Brotherhood of Steel members.... (it seriously looks like one holding an auto laser) =P I would love to see Ivory Tower in Reach, same with Headlong, Blood Gulch and Avalanche (again). I doubt that 3/4 of these will appear in Reach, but a man can dream right? Also- it seems that the one holding the Sniper is probably Linda (One of John's squadmates)
U huh. Well then that would make them marines/ODSTs wouldn't it. Fair enough, I don't know that much about Halo outside the game's campaign.
Utter fail. Read the books to realize that Spartan's aren't JUST MJOLNIR armor. They trained without MJOLNIR armor, and they can operate without the armor. As well, I do not believe ODSTs were ever on Reach.
At the end of ODST it says Buck survived reach, and seeing as it was a human colony, second largest I believe..I would think they'd have their major military forces there..
I agree. I think it's just a squad of spartans with early MJOLNIR, and i doubt elites will be friendly. The guy on left isnt an elite though. Elites have funky leg joints; two knees and all that. He doesnt. It looks like EOD to me. There is a chance of being an elite in some missions i guess, like Arby in H2, but it wont be friendly. Back on topic: IT was a great FFA map. I'd love to see it in Reach.
Ah well. Either way, Spartans at one time used armor that would be Similar to an ODST's so really the picture that I had quoted would show nothing.
