I have become quite familiar with this technique (non oln) and would like to spread my knowledge.. anyone who wants to try this or work on it with me.. please let me know.. or more simply. add me on halo.
Just checking, you need two people then? And can you do this on system link? Because that would make things a bombload easier for me...
you dont need 2 ppl for doing the non oln one.. not sure about doing it with oln. but neway. its actually better to do it by urself unless your splitscreen or lan.
Thats true, but there isnt really much point to interlocking a power-up unless you want a super pro MLG colorcoded base on foundry in the wall. And, if someone can find any use for ghosting weapon holders, you deserve reconz. Like me!
My Ixchel's Court Grifball map has teardrops below the crypt's floor. While holding your object (with the teardrop below the crypt) save it, Basically like the old version save/float glitch. You can't even interlock powerups far enough into walls to make them be... not grabable.. bad sentence, that I don't feel like retyping, you get the point. - Reason for ghosting weapon holders: REALLY fricken lame water physics that make them PHREAK out if you don't have them no-clipped. RECONZ ME NOWZ
host wait you said i have to be host? does that mean there has to be more than one player playing with me? Because im the only one who likes forge out of most of my friends who got xbox's
You can do it solo, or with others in the party. But if you have others in the party, only the host can utilize the glitch
Actually, that very center point is were you grab them, so if you interlock it from the wrong side of a wall, it will assure that they are purely aesthetic. And what purpose does interlocking weapon holders underwater have, anyway? I updated the first page and put a note about the MLG maps that are quickly losing credit. I really hope that everybody who utilizes this still has the knowledge that every single map in the MLG playlist was created years before this glitch was discovered, and that the creators still get all sorts of props for the amazing crap they did so long ago.
To everyone confused about being host, doing it solo or with others, host, or any of those other concerns, read the ENTIRE first post. It will most likely answer your questions. That is true, but that being said you can only aesthetically interlock powerups with walls/doors/chainwalls/thin things. Which isn't neccessarily a bad thing, just unfortunate for those who want to aesthetically interlock powerups with everything else. A good portion of longshore's forgability is underwater.
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but strange things happen when you do this with movable objects. Notably, vehicles and explosives I did it with a wraith, and the wraith's double loses all gravity when you pick up the main wraith! Sorry, I don't know how to get this on youtube: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
ok i have some questions first I've tried it with powerups and cant get it to work, and trust me im doing it right i pretty much mastered this glitch except for with powerups. now i have another question. can you do this with cannon mans?
Before you grab the respawn 30 one find the never one and go human mode and get the overshield so it disapeers, then you can do it. Yes you can do it with any immovable object except weapon holders, and objective based items, if anyone can correct me on that I shall be happy face and I will kiss you BTW, it is possible to do it with teleporters it just takes a little longer for them to deload, then you just grab the one that is still spawned..
If only there was a way to get those no-gravity objects to stay that way! That would be sweet, you could fly a warthog or pilot a crate .
When countermerging do you have to not be host? I've tried it when I was host and also in local but whenever I go under the map I die within a few seconds. Could I be doing something wrong?
Try going under the map in another spot. Some areas are easier than others. Yes, you still need to be host.
This glitch is orgasmic. Also, would someone tell me how this works? Like if I just release the object in mid-air, will it stay there?
Could someone tell me what I did wrong. I am new to ghost merging, but old to all of the other types of merging and interlocking. I was trying to ghost merge, and all of a sudden when I picked up a stone colloum another colloum started floating and flew over to the guardians. I don't have a screen recoreder of any type so I put it on my file share. Could someone tell me whats up? This type of merging gets me confused. Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
