Silex_____________ Design Lead: Aaronator Design Back-up: stickmanmeyhem Forger: stickmanmeyhem _________________ Map Overview: Silex is a symmetrical map. It is playable with either team or free-for-all gametypes. The map consists of three main elements. The Bases, the bridge, and the Needler path. The Bases: Each base has two floors. The bottom floor has four entrances, however, the top only has one. The top is only accessible by using the man cannon located at the back of each base. Base layout Top floor The Bridge: The bridge is a very useful sniper position. It also houses an overshield after 120 seconds. If you control the bridge, you can see most of the map and be able to get a good shot off at your enemies. Keep in mind, though, that they can see you too. Bridge after 120 Seconds The Needler Path: The needler path is a crucial point in the map. It houses the second way up to the bridge and gives quick acess to your opponent's base. It also holds a weapon that is surprisingly powerful in this map, the needler. If you control the needler path, you have a well covered quick route from one base to the other, but watch out, the other team will be thinking the same thing... The sniper that spawns at the end of each side of the needler path The other areas of the map: The only part of the map that isn't considered a key point is the rocket spawn/foot structure. In the top corner of the map, there is a structure that features ramps leading up to a raised platform that is the main entrance on to the bridge. Below this platform is the Rocket Spawn. Rocket Spawn The foot structure is below the bridge. It leads to the Sword Spawn path. Foot Structure Inside the foot structure is a hallway that leads to the Mauler spawn Hallway Mauler Spawn And last but certainly not least, the Center Structure which houses sticky grenades and a power drain. Wow i must say judging from the pictures this looks real good. And also... Your Style of forging is kind of unique in a way. I will DL it for later to give a better review. Can't get on right now due to bed time.
All right I tried the map, and it is VERY well forged, I like the weapons, but I could do without the sword, mauler, and needler(That's just me.) I think the map layout is great, there aren't many bumps, and I found a few good hiding spots on that map, so I think this map deserves a 10/10.
I suggest changing the name... because I think that I saw this name like 10 times... and effects on Competetive maps is always bad... All the BK will cry and say that it is because of the effects that they suck... And I like the bridge but I hate purple lights
Very Good I want to download just to look at how you made things. As what Joe said, Get rid of the Lights unless there just there for a LOW aesthetic reason other than that as what Joe above me said again they'll be the kids "NO I DON'T SUCK IT WAS THE LIGHTS FAULT I HATE LIGHTS I LIKE CATS WHY CANT YOU MAKE CATS IN HALO? etc. etc." See my Point?
this is very cool especially with the lights but i agree that a lot of players don't like lights on competitive maps. It is really just to blame there mess ups on but still. Good job on the center structure looks like it fits just right in your map. Keep up the good work
I like lights, I just hate the purple lights, they are not even nice. And I said that the BKs will cry because of the filters, not because of the lights. :)
So perfect this is a definite download, but im not sure about the effects, depending on the gameplay. These are minor problems for such a great map.
Really? I haven't seen this name around before... hmm... I'll poke my nose around and see if I come up with something. Just a note, in gameplay, there's gonna be no way those BK's can complain. I put 2 effects on. Juicy and Colorblind. This results in the overall brightness of the map almost the exact same as if it had no filters on at all, but it still brings out more aesthetics from the colors in the map. Well, the purple light is in that corner to emphasize the fact that the rockets spawn there. If you play it without that light there, the rockets won't be visible. I also personally wish I could've just gotten a white instead of purple light, but as a forger I am stuck to what bungie gives me. And no. I don't see your point. *sigh* just do one thing for me. Go through every featured map on sandbox and count how many have lights. Just do it. That's what the community likes. Everyone I replied to, read this. ^
*Shamelessly copy/pasted from another forging site.* This looks pretty amazing, man! I'm downloading now, and I'll be back with a gameplay review later on today hopefully. I love the unique structures and layout you have here; I've never seen anything quite like this. I don't know if the Sword being that close to the Brute Shot will be a problem or not, but playing it will let me know. Nice map!
The effects aren't going to go well with some players...Reguardless seems well forged tho the gravity life could be forged in to the block...
From what Aaronator told me, the word "Silex" means fear. Could you please learn english before you post a comment?

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. I spent an hour putting the post together, but totally forgot one of the power weapons. Anyway. As Aaronator said, the filters/effects don't mess up gameplay at all. And any BK's that whine about it are BK's so nobody should listen to them anyway.
I actually like that you put a fx to the map. I mean, it's equally much of a "problem" or "advantage" to everyone, and I dont see how that would change your gameplay. Anyhow, some areas seem a little messy and some seem a little tight or narrow, as if the roof was too low or something, but that doesnt have to be bad. and by the way, i think you posted a pic twice, the "foot structure pic" (i think)

This map looks good and seems like it would play well. I'm only looking at the pictures, so bare with me I also really like the bridge. I normally don't like filters but juicy and colorblind don't seem that bad and aren't very noticable. I'm gonna give it a 9/10 but please remeber all I'm judging off of is pictures pictures pictures Edit- One suggestion I have is if you have any extra recources you could merge the grav lift into the block with a weapon holder, but it doesn't matter much.
