Sorry that the title isn't really clear, I couldn't think of the right way to word it lol. Anyways, to the point. So I'm making a second floor of a building on sandbox. I'm using double walls and single walls to make it. The problem is that when I end the game and come back they are all out of place. Now I already know WHY this happens, what I want to know is HOW I fix it. I know its fixable, seeing as all of the featured maps have super-straight floors lol. All advice is welcome .
If you are still holding the objects when you save changes, the object will snap to the last position it was in when you last pressed the rotate trigger. Walls will always slightly tilt to one side on sandbox as well. Nobody knows why, it's a glitch and there is no real way around it other than placing the object multiple times until it comes out somewhat straight.
Bungie.net : Bungie Weekly Update: 04/17/09 : 4/17/2009 4:22 PM PDT (it's about halfway down the page) A long time ago in bungie's weekly update they mentioned how to fix it. It basically says that make sure all of the sides that point down connect and all of the up sides connect.
Well thanks to the both of you, unfortunately I used a lot of overlapping interlocking so Bungie's "fix" wont exactly work for me.
If you can't simply have the down sides touching down sides and up with up, you could try using wood bridges as floors. They don't seem to rotate after save, but you'll want to alternate what direction they point as well.
Another option you can try is place all of your wall doubles and make sure they are flat. Then place any object that is by default parallel with the ground. Place it on top of all of your walls. As far as I know, the game prefers keeping objects from being interlocked. I have no idea if this method works for sure. I have tested it to an extent, and if you place the object correctly, it typically stays flat. That's my five cents.
