If someone uses a Turret as a "button" is that okay dokay? Like a cannon of sorts?... if three people make three different maps, but submit them on other accounts... Does that disqualify them? (Still nothing.... Sad Face)
does it matter if i have a teleporter that takes you out of the map say like on foundry or highground
As long as your map is compatible with the Save One Bullet gametype, then it is perfectly fine. However, be wary of making your map too complicated, or else it may destroy the "pick up and play" aspect of using a default gametype. As for your second question, if anyone makes an duplicate account on this site, for this contest or otherwise, they will have that account banned, and the original infracted. So yes, it will most likely result in a disqualification as well. Again, as long as it works with Save One Bullet gametype, and the map isn't budget glitched or modded in anyway, then you are allowed to do such.
Well I just looked through all of this and most of my questions are answered but I just want a few things cleared up before I fully decide on what I want to do with this. Are the prizes for this aloud to be released or are they going to be told once the map submissions are done? Turrets are allowed? We are making these maps for 12-16 players? This is going to be my first go at an infection map and I am extremely confident with what I have thought up, can't wait to see what everyone else does...
Test out the gametype required and make sure that turrets work with it (which it should). You most likely want to go for 10-14 players, but again, anything that works well with Save One Bullet is acceptable. We are still discussing prizes, and they will be released in due time.
Going off what iRayanne said, when you submit your map, there is a section to include the recommended number of players to play with on your map. There is no minimum or maximum value beyond that set by Halo 3 itself, but the amount of players should be set to the number that will most maximize the gameplay experience.
It depends on what you mean by Mini-game map. The key thing is that it works with the default Save One Bullet gametype, and plays like an infection map.
Hey, I don't have access to (and will not till about 5 days before the deadline) my xbox. Can someone please post the gametype settings for people like me who, at the moment, lack the ability to check the settings for themselves?
I've updated the original post to include settings of interest for the Save One Bullet gametype, meaning I excluded unchanged settings.
Grenades? The setting in the gametype making weapons not spawn, does that also apply to grenades and equipment such as active camo or over shields?
No, it does not. Grenades have their own setting that allows them to be on the map or not. It is impossible to make equipment(including Active Camo, Overshields, and Custom Powerups) on the map not spawn(unless, of course, you delete them). However, in Save One Bullet the humans cannot pick up weapons, grenades, or equipment, making the only things grabable Active Camo, Overshields, and/or Custom Powerups.
Hi, I only have one question : If I have already submitted a map for the contest, is it possible for me to un-submit it, make a few changes to it to finally re-submit the edited version before the deadline?
Go for it. Just don't make another post in the submission thread; edit your original post. Staff will not test these maps until the deadline.
Which will we be better off making our map? Simple and easy to pick up, or complex and more fun to play multiple times? Just asking for future reference.
It is up to the map creator, though I can say that you should aim for a simple and easy to pick up game, that is fun to play multiple times. Maps don't have to be complex to be fun.
Question time! 1) I forge most of maps with a friend. I have one we just finished, but we have another we'd like to do... It says only 1 submission per person...so does that I can submit one and he can submit one, even though we both worked on both? 2) In Halo 3's Infection DEXP Weekends I believe SoB starts with two infected players for balance reasons, although the default on Halo 3's gametype is set to one. Any thoughts on whether that can be varied, or is it 1 zombie to start, and that be that? 3) And lastly, Pink team or Brown team? Thanks, Sik
1) A co-forged map counts as 1 submission for both people, so no, you can't submit two maps and just split the posts between you two. 2) Undecided at this point. If this is indeed true, there is a possibility that we will match the gametype to the Bungie Playlist settings. Just make sure your map can accommodate the Save One Bullet gametype, and the rest should fall into place by themselves. 3) What do you mean?
