i would have to say that a plasma pistol with either the regular pistol or the carbine is a much more destructive combo. for 1 reason, after u overcharge shot a brute it takes just 1 shot from either carbine or pistol to take them out.

id say windward is the best endure map, the guys i got the achievement with, the frist set we screwed around and had 0 lives, by the end of the 4th set we had 15+ lives. all u need to do is sit in the main room with someone watching each door. id say this is a way easier map than alpha site, alpha site would be 2nd in my book , but to each his own.

I'm not saying that they're hard to kill, I'm saying that day time is easier because there aren't any engineers. Crater is a tiny map, and I find my self getting hit by pieces of exploding shrapnel sometimes after you kill them no matter where I am(except maybe inside the building). There's also plenty of hiding spots for the engineers on crater.

Honestly what's worse are the Jackals that can two shot you during the day. Suddenly the camera zooms out and looks at your dead body while you're scratching your head wondering what happened. Not to mention that you have to use Carbine just to reach the ones that camp towards the back right side. Oddly enough, Carbine has 2x scope and reaches, Pistol has 4x scope, but doesn't reach from the top of the stairs.

I'm gonna have to throw the BS flag on that one, the Carbine and Automag both have a very similar range the carbine being only slightly farther. I can take out a jackal sniper on a roof across the map on Crater with the Automag and fewer shots than a Carbine. Automag is very accurate at near long range, but I notice the Carbine's spread is iffy at anything but medium range.

Alpha site is pretty easy, you guys only have to guard twp chokepoints.
And if a guy is in the elevator, he can beat down through the glass windows.
This is great when Blac Eye is on.

i find crater is quite sweet to play on, the turret for first round is mint for getting the scores up, me and my mate played on heroic with just the two of us and we hit 200k before set 2 round 2 :)

Also theres quite a lot of extra ammo hidden on crater at the back of the map where the two drop ships land, sniper at one side and rocket ammo at other side ;)

Go try it. Play Crater and stay up top in the area with your spawn and try to shoot a sniper with your automag. Don't go down the stairs or anything . Automag won't reach, then grab a carbine and shoot from that exact area, it'll reach and kill. It's not at accurate as the automag, but it reaches.

(I noticed this when I was doing Endure on Alpha site)The carbine's shots start spreading out and get less accurate at long range, while the magnum does not. Trouble is on higher sets when you're trying to take out jackals with shields from a long distance, it doesn't work with a carbine because the shots spread out. With a magnum it'll stay straight, but the problem is, on say set 4, the jackals don't even flinch when you shoot them with the auto mag through the hole in the shield.

I'd second that. There's plenty of room and it's a massive choke point, half the size of alpha site. The health packs are literally right next to you. You don't have as much room to manoeuvre, but you can drop to the bottom of the stairs or loop back on yourself, which is good for evading chieftains. The tunnels throughout the map let you escape/relocate easily, and you can quickly move down to the landing pads with hammer during the first wave of each round then return to the main room unscathed, even if the second wave throws flyers at you. If you keep to the tunnels or the main room, the black eye rounds aren't too different from tough luck + catch, and probably easier until thunderstorm activates.

I did Endure on Lost Platoon, we chose it with the mentality of vehicles will make it so we don't have to worry about ammo. We soon realized that this wasn't the case, since we needed someone to constantly take out Wraiths with the laser, which is easy as long as you decide for one person to use the laser, and he should be on foot or in the Chopper, because the Worthog's main focus is killing the Shieldless Covenant, especially Drones since Choppers can have difficulties with them. Once Tilt and Mythic is on, the Warthog becomes pretty much useless so I suggest transitioning from 2 Choppers and a Hog, to 4 Choppers.

Last Exit is also a good map for Endure, you get a Rocket and a Sniper right by your spawn, as well as Hijackable Ghosts so you won't run out of ammo, use the Ghost to weaken shields, then Augo-mag headshots to finish off Brutes. Splatters also go through the Chieftan's invulnerability.

I think most of the maps are based on preference, for example, I've heard a lot of people liking Windward for this, but personally I hate that map and have trouble seeing anyone getting Endure on it. I like the other two because of the weapon and vehicle selection, but Alpha Site is probably the easiest, but least entertaining, imo.

Some people argue Alpha Site is the best, and some Windward and some Lost Platoon.

Basicly, Lost Platoon would be the most entertaining of the three, but it has the highest risk factor. With little cover and a variation of vehicles you could be doing really good and it could get turned upside down last minute.

Alpha Site and Windward don't really have this issue, once your knee-deep in the 2nd set, it doesn't really get more difficult, providing you have grasped how to work successfuly as a team.

In comparing them. Windward will have your team ganged up in corners of the starting room, deperately holding out for the majority of the game. Some may find that dull, but it does work, and it will continue to work for all eternity. One of the major problems is Chieftans and Hunters because of the cramped room, you can find it difficult to get away at times and may find that you bunch up in groups, then die in groups...

Alpha Site however is more spacious, the bonus round is easier more UNSC weapons spawn so generally you will enjoy it more. Also, using the low cover near Sniper/Shotgun spawns, you can really kick a chieftans ass with height advantage. The major disadvantage of Alpha Site is that the room is very high, and jet-pack brutes and drones will offer you a pretty hard time, especially when mythic comes on with tilt.

    To sum it up;

Windward - Safest, most boring. Be weary of enemies with area damage in later rounds.

Alpha Site - Good weapon set, good anti-hero environment. Be weary of Drones.

Lost Platoon - Riskiest, but most laid back and entertaining

Im going to third this, but for some different reasons. When me and my 3 other friends went in, this is what we did: Three of the four of us went into the room with the desk and melee'd the desk until it blocked the only entrance into the room. The best of the four stayed outside and hid. Once the enemies started coming into the room and attacking the three in the room (via perjectile; they couldn't get in) the fourth would quickly come out and finish them off. He would also kill any stragglers near the end of the wave that have been hanging down by the drop point. After the second set (give or take) a second person (or even thrid) could come out of the room and start killing.

The point of that hole shabang is to collect as many lives as possible so you aren't always stressed over lives in the game.

hunters really arent a problem regardless of map at least imo. and as for cheiftons if your on top in the room and hes coming after you all you need to do is jump down, it confuses the **** out of him.

another thing we did for windward which i think most people do, but one person gets the fuel rod cannon and always grabs the ammo for it, this makes cheiftons and hunters laughable

Fuel Rods are good for Hunters, but for the Chieftain, not so great I find. The Carbine is the best, if going into Firefight only knowing one thing, shooting Chieftain's head until his helmet falls off, then shoot him once more in the head and he's dead without activating invulnerability if done right, should be the one thing you know. Your teammates will, appreciate it ;) A friend also knows some sort of side-stepping method, but he still has to explain it to me. Very useful for the maps without vehicles, though.

Did you not read my post? I have no problems taking out jackal snipers with the Automag from behind the turret on Crater. I do notice that you need to adjust your aim for a bit of bullet drop, but just aim a little high next time and it works fine. It's amazing how Bungie incorporates some real bullet physice in game that not many people notice.

As far as the best map, I'm going to have to say I'm sticking with Alpha site until we get it. We got to set 4 wave 3 round 4 last night and ran out of lives, talking about a bummer. It's prolly my fault, but I had 300k+ points out of the 600k because I was constantly having to save someone. :/

I would have to say that Alpha Site is the best for endure, maybe not for high scores though. I did endure three times on Alpha Site. On the third time we got endure with 38 lives. I really wanted to continue, but Deathtoll and Riku were tired or something.

I agree with this. I got the achievement for Lost Platoon (The map's achievement, not Endure) using only a Chopper and the Splazer. (Then went on Bungie.net and saw that their latest Weekly Update denounced the use of Choppers on Lost Platoon. XD) If you have a team of people who know their seriously know their stuff, you could probably pull it off relatively easily on Lost Platoon.
Windward is pretty safe, meaning you can camp inside the central building and wait for enemies to come to you in small groups. I got the Be Like Marty achievement there by hooking up a second controller and having my second player sit inside while I cleared out the rest of the enemies. Rarely did any Covees get in to my player.
Alpha Site is grood for pure carnage and chaos, because they all pour into the middle and you have your back against the wall most of the time.

i did this on alpha site. on the topic of hunters and chieftains, for hunters we used fuel rods, and for chieftains, we were always by where you spawn, so wed have 3 ppl stay there and distract him, the one person jump off the stairs to where the ammo is, then go around and assassinate him. if he somehow follows the person flanking him, the 3 who were bait would take him out because his invincibility would be out.
