Mythic allowed infant forgers to come into their own. Mythic allowed talent to flourish, and creativity to fly. Those who were good became great and those who were great became godly. Personally requested commissions from many of those both great and godly have been created for this cause. Yet, the veil hovered above the final two, and to anxious faces the reveal of this heavenly artwork shall come as a cool burn in their loins. Diadem is the final asymmetrical map of the tournament. Most definitely a fan favorite among the staff members, Diadem flaunts one of the most solid design concepts in the asymmetrical category. A ring composed of varying heights, mixed with easy sloping ramps, Diadem plays almost symmetrical in style, and creates a movement based game. A center room with many entrances pulls the atmosphere of the map together with some tighter ranged combat, while playing around the outer circle will rely heavily upon medium to long range battles. Camo and rockets lie in opposing corners, and are the most contested items, with two neutral snipers adding to the long range game. One things for sure, if you hadn't heard Adelyss' name before, you best listen up from now on. Good luck to the remaining contestants, you've done damn well to get this far. Wow i have to say, with this as the semi final map... I am REAAAAALY looking forward to the final map because this is AMAZING. Though i feel that there are too many power weapons and such, this map is beautifully forged
Honestly, for 1v1 based on experience... Rockets, Mauler and Camo... Too much. It likely plays well, but my opinion is that all these maps are built solely on aesthetics. Oh, and the fact FH loves coloured members. Aren't they special.

Yarly. Lern 2 use othr wpans get rid if tude. Honestly, learn a different playstyle than MLG, there's more to the game than the br. These maps are built around the gametype and you wouldn't how a good map played even if it slapped your face. The fact is this tournament was closed off from the public as far as the map design process went. So, who else was going to make the maps. DUR DUR DUR
I apologise rusty and bwendon. My comment was highly unneeded, and deserved all the flak it got. But saying 'wouldn't how a good map played even if it slapped your face' is a tad far. I've played and done unofficial (meaning told the creator directly) reviews on maps plenty of times to known what good n bad. I may not be in the Testers or Reviewers guild, but I know a map when I see one. Scobra, that cut a tad deep too. I forgive you both though, I got what I deserved. I just have too outspoken opinions sometimes. By the way Rusty That was a tad harsh on Psych and vash, seeing as they are clearly new members, and I think MLG is silly =D. BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND. I think my comments, while personal, weren't near as far as the veiled insult directed at all of the map's creators. Anyways, that's besides the point, I apologize for jumping down your throat like that, but I love that map. I'm going to fanboy it just as hard or harder than the people who nay-say it. It's alright to outspoken opinions, just as long as you know the facts. As for Pysch and vash, they've made it pretty clear they're only here to cause drama. New members or not, that doesn't excuse their behavior. Mine isn't excused either, but quite frankly, I don't care. Lol. On to the map: Awesomesauce. I could go into details, but only if I'm called on it.
Curious as to why Camo and Rockets were moved around at the last minute. Rockets needed to be in a higher risk spot and now I see Camo sitting there. :-\
Rockets aren't exposed enough where they were. Also, at the start, one player has a significant advantage over the other with a simple slide jump. It's not as high risk, but it certainly is more balanced. At least I think.
Well, this is truly a great map. I saw this map get built from its very first stages and ran around aimlessly and randomly for long periods of time for no reason while Adyless would tell me his plans. I would say "No thats garbage" and he built it anyway, LOL, JK. Anyway, it really is good and to Squid, the changes were for the better. As for those complaining about the weapons, these maps were tested and tested and tested by staff and other players ranging widely in skill. Bad players and pros played and gave suggestions for months, so trust me, its good. You say they are built more for aesthetics, pfft. please. When you build a small map just for a 1v1, you will most likely have alot of budget left to add some sick aesthetics. So what would you do? leave it plain or make it look good? Duh.Quit complaining and give some props to one of the best forgers here who is finally getting his name out. Good job Adyless
I've dled and had a little game just before. I'm quite impressed, very smooth forging which provides some entertaining gameplay. The teleporter trick, the recieving tele isn't visible, is very neat and had me wondering for a bit. Great map Adyless, another one to add to your impressive collection.
Actually the gametype allows the player to start with a BR which should be your primary weapon. The other weapon (Rocket) is a power weapon. Camo is used to counter the rocket. The other (Weapons you call a power weapon) are secondary weapons which you use in certain cases. Let me explain. I have a AR the other player will get ripped to shreds if I come around a tight corner what does he do? Grab the Mauler. The mauler counters the AR. And the AR counters the mauler if used right. The rockets counter maul/sniper if used right etc. Sniper should be used to body shot, BR or head shot and is used mainly when they are coming down a hallway. You see the map from a stand back point of view may seem like there is to many powerful weapons as you say but the weapons are secondary weapons and have special cases when to be used. That is why you need to learn the maps play style and go get those weapons when the time comes. Refer to first quote. Then what leave it with no neutral power weapon lol? xP
why not get the headshot with the sniper and save the be ammo. The sniper is a definate power weapon if its in the right hands. Close quarters or longe range.
I think this map would be good for a 1v1, however I do thing that the rockets and camo are really well.. um... not really needed. If this isn't for MLG however, I think it is a fairly good map overall. 3/5 MLG 4/5 Reg. 1v1
