Yea I dunno, I would stick with the XP just because it's smaller and still runs great especially with 4GB of RAM....If you want windows 7 just for looks then don't get it >.>. All you have to do is some toying around with XP and it looks fine. I even know a skin that makes XP look like W7...lol

It's like stretched by >100 pixels, so it's not that bad.

My screen res is 1280x800, so yeah

Windows 7 is much faster, and less resource heavy, than XP or Vista. I reccomend it highly, and W7 is the only OS so far to really take advantage of > 4GB of RAM.

I run it on a low end desktop, and it's runs real fast, and I also run it on my Macbook, and it, once again, is very fast.

You may as well, I mean it's free in your case but you might want to check compatibility with some of your programs, even though it has an XP mode for that.

x64 runs all programs that are made with x64 architecture much faster while still being able to run x32 programs just as well. Your ONLY loss is not being able to run 16 bit programs....none of which i have ever seen before....

also, you can use more RAM.

BUT, i'm telling you, DO NOT try and get windows 7 now. Wait until it comes out. Then buy it. It is near impossible to crack at the moment and i got lucky.

I know. My friend said he installed the full version, but I guess not. And I'm too lazy to activate it.

Its been a while since I last posted. Now I'm really into arch linux. What you see in the shots is a tiling window manager, which automates how windows are placed on the screen. Its extremely useful, and I love it. Theres also a bunch of terminal apps up on the screen, which I prefer over gui apps.

I've still got windows though, for playing games and the occasional proprietary crap I've been dragged into.

@Waffle : Thanks for the Info, will definitely be changing to Windows 7 on Both my computers then, and if I ever want to change back; I have my Windows XP disk handy.

@Hari : Thanks for the heads up, and I noticed. Rocketdocks only x32 bit and I use it on my x64 Laptop. When does it come out?

@Smokin : How do you Customize your Rainmeter Skin? I would love to know how.

If KidBomber happens to pass by this, I found a nice Portal Wallpaper I think he might like, here's the site : Wallpaper Abyss - 1920 x 1200 Video Game - Portal Wallpaper

Here's my new Desk (looking for stuff for Rainmeter no skins that I like on Deviant); thanks again to Smokin for the Website of Wallpaperr (LOVE THIS SITE!)

    You just edit the .ini.

Right click the skin > Edit settings and it should be easy, it's very simple code.
