Created By: Transactionzero Recommend Players: 1v1 Recommended Gametype: Conflict 1v1 Conflict, Quarter Final (Winners Bracket) This asymmetrical skybox map has gone through the process of evolution so many times, it could write the book better than Darwin himself. Initially a symmetrical map with an elevated center and an overload of aesthetics, Cayanne has learned what a refined map needs to employ in order to consummate some of the best competitive gameplay this tournament has. From mistakes to successes, four or more maps have been built up, crushed and built once more. One could say Cayanne is not unlike the city of Troy. The application of some rather underused ideas sets the mood for what may be one of the more interesting and almost eerie experiences of the conflict. Two sets of single transition teleporters break the circular monotony and minor quick jumps linked with slight pathway changes promote swift movement for intelligent players. An impassable, open middle draws players into a long range game, easily making the most devastating weapon the ever coveted Sniper Rifle. Though Cayanne may feel immense, it never ceases to ensure shivers will run through the spine of an aware player. The finest work of one D. De Marco, Cayanne is the archetype of perfection to deliver us upon the most competitive rounds of the tournament. I've got the perfect set-up for this map, well for me at least. Tz, I very much like the map and wish luck on all the players still in the winner's bracket. EDIT: 1st Bitches!!!
Wow, looks really good. The only complaint I can see from the pictures is the teleporter. Sorry, but I don't like them in maps, cause it can create camping. I will download it and try it out with a couple of buddies. And Rusty, you HAD to be first didn't you?
ahh 2 more 1v1 maps now, sweet. Looks like the telepoters-could-cause-camping. Im dling this sucker now, hopefully i can check out tonight if someones on. Congrats TZ on the feature
Is anyone else getting the "unable to locate specified file" page when you click to download? I'm getting it. But this looks like another great addition to the collection of 1v1's. EDIT: It fixed itself.
Why is it so rare to find featured mini-game and race maps? There are many other great maps out there besides competitive, I think the "biasedness" towards competitiveness needs to stop. All of these are the same nowadays, and it may just be me but Im sick of the exact same competitive maps. Why not feature some maps that are unique and alot different, for example makisupa007. It seems like all you guys aim for is gameplay? Well thats my point of view on the featuring system, grats on the feature zero.
Wish it was the other way around. But, I thought every weeks feature wouldn't be interrupted. As in, other content would be featured. You know, people besides the staff.
Nice map, it really shows great asymmetrical design and layout.. Has great interlocking and merging, Great Multi- level layout.. All around one of the best maps ive seen in a long time.. Keep forging and continue to do great 15/10
I believe the tournament maps get featured and posted on Monday while, the normal features get featured usually anytime between Thursday and Sunday. So if you put two and two together normal features aren't interrupted.
Okay I was being a dumbass. I see it now, a bunch of the features start with a C so I assumed that they were all for the tournament. Sorry. When I got a better look I saw more. I never insulted the map so anyone who further responds calm down.
I love this map Tz. It seems so huge compared to the others yet it plays so well. To you other two guys, TELEPORTERS-DO-NOT-CAUSE-CAMPING. Not with these settings. If you go into a teleporter and you know somone was close behind you, but they didnt follow you into it, it wouldnt be smart to go back through. Anyway, good job Tz, one of my favorites. I also want to say that Carbon is a nice map too. I recomend people download it also, even if you arent in the tourney or the loosers bracket.
I like this map and I have to say: "Great work, dude!" BTW: The cause why so many people thinks, that teleporter do cause camping is that it's happen with 2-way-teleporters. But on this map are only 1-way teleporters, so there won't be any problem.
I remember awhile back in one of the versions I made it had a single two-way teleport. From green room to construction pipe room. Additionally the map was one sided at the time and it worked well for the time being. However, once I fleshed out and balanced the sides it made sense to use two one-way teleports. They help push players around the map and now players are never safe on Cayanne! Thank guys for the praise.
That's the problem! We worry too much about gameplay. Halo 3 is made to be a competitive game. Sure mini-games can be fun, but a mini-game will never play as well as a competitive map. I like the teleporters. Great job, Tz. I am glad to see a map from you. The map is definitely unique contrary to what others may believe. It is genuinely fun to play too. Flow is great, and everything works well together. I especially like the jumps you have. It's hard for me to explain why I like this map, so check it out for yourself, everyone.
good map, the only reason I voted lower than usual is because of spawns. I have practiced on it many times already and am getting good at the whole spawn killing buisiness.the open middle is the cause. Also the starting spawns are inches from the snipers. If both players choose to grab it, there would most likely be a kill or 2 in the first 15 seconds or so. But 10/10 for creativity, as i have never played a map like that. You must be aware of your opponent at all times to come out on top.
wow this map is amzing, i <3 everything about it, except the name but no matter it's still great. I rated and downloaded it. So keep making greta maps Yours truly,
