[sup]^Thanks to Knight Kninja for the banner^[/sup] Hey Some of you may have remember The Forging Teacher Association that I tried to start up a few months back. Here is a link to the original social group if you want more information on The FTA, unfortunately my plans fell through due to a few reasons, anyway I am now restarting it giving it the time it needs to actually start, although to give it the time it needs I'm going to have to get someone who is organised to help run it, preferable someone who lives in America since I live in Scotland, The position will entail looking after our social group, mainly just updating forum threads with who the teachers are teaching, during the hours I wont be on (roughly GMT 23:00-16:00 during weekdays and GMT 00:00-12:00 during the weekend) or when I go on holiday away from my comp. It shouldn't be to big a job it's just to keep it organised and up-to-date. Applicants don’t have to use forge or even have halo as I will be looking for some who won’t be looking to become a future teacher. If you want to apply leave a comment below giving some information on why you want the job, any past experiences doing work like this and any other information you think might be relevant.
I would love to do this! Several times I have taught people how to Forge, and it's always such a rewarding experience. Plus, I can never really finish my maps due to lack of interest, so this will be a great opportunity for me to actually finish them by teaching techniques on my own maps. Hell, I'd even do something where when they are done learning, they can place an object in my map and I'd leave it there for release. =]
well at the moment this is just for a social group mod position so to speak, we wont start filling in teacher positions for a week or so, I'll post a thread in the forge discusion section once we are ready to receive teacher applications.
You almost do not need to teach much now that Ghost merging has been discovered. Spawns and weapon placement are mostly the only challenge now to forgers allong with layout of course. lol. The forging 101 is the best teach IMO.
Well the problem with the 101 tutorials is that it only tells you what to do, where as with a tutor from our group will be able to teach you not only that but can give you a hand if there is anything you get stuck on, methods of forging that can help make thing easier. Also even with the new ghost merging glitch it does make interlocking or geolocking redundant, they are still the main way to forge and are much more active, ghost merging will be covered by our curriculum but on briefly we will spend the most of our time on things like spawn placement, weapon placement and effective layout since these are what makes most great maps, great. Anyway can any comment after this one please be peoples applications, thanks
