Hey guys… I'm Sharp. My gamertag is xSharpshooter94 and that has been my online alias for almost 2 years. I started out by going to Machinima.com after getting interested in Halo. I would go on each week and watch some videos and I periodically played some Halo 3 Matchmaking. Then on one of the weekly site shows, I saw a plug for a site called Forgehub. So I went there and stayed in the shadows for a bit. Then I decided one day while I was bored to join and post a little bit. I started to have fun on the site and met some great people there, some I still talk to today, but others have moved on to bigger and better things. I was however secluded to just that site. I never went to anywhere else and was oblivious to the vastness that is the Halo community. I went around the site, posting several times daily and bitching at staff members about infractions and not being loyal. Eventually I became fed up and left Forgehub…several times, but always came back. I felt so much love for the site that I had dedicated my spare time to that I couldn’t abandon it. I could shake the fact however, that whenever one of my friends would become a colored member of the site, they would turn their backs on me. So after a year and a half went by, I finally became tired of Forgehub once again and joined a site called Forgebattle. This is when my eyes were opened to the wonder of the Halo fan base. I did public relations for the site and so I was the one who approved affiliates and went seeking new ones. After a while, Forgebattle became known as the center for Battletracks and the premiere place for Halo 3 racetracks. So in time we were able to affiliate with a few big names such as The Running Riot, Halotracks, the former Kill Joy Incorporated, and XForgery. My position, along with being a friend of Forgehub’s public relations head, Insane54, I got to meet a lot of cool and important people. I have to say that it was kind of cool playing with Bryan Simon, Kete and others a couple of times. However, I was attracted to XForgery, like many of us by the legendary, infamous, and my good friend, AZN FTW. At XForgery I found a growing community of genuinely nice people. I started posting around and even applied for a job as one of their Review Team members. I was accepted. After this I started to become more active on XForgery, but in turn Forgebattle began to die. Although Forgebattle is still active, it is very rarely posted on. So I gravitated most of my time to XForgery and its workings. With the fall of Forgebattle, I lost a lot of my connections with the affiliates. I didn’t mind though, I felt that I needed to be part of a smaller site and to have some time out of the limelight (not that I was more than an inch into it, but it was overwhelming nonetheless). For a while I joined into the daily routine of life on XForgery. I sport the Flying Zero now and help the site with what I can. A couple of months later, I decided to come out of hiding a little bit. I knew I would never be able to get back to the spot I was in, but I started to talk to old friends, started reminiscing about old times and enjoy the fun that were having now. I still have people join my party and go “No way! You know Tylyr1?!?!” I just pay no attention to it and continue on with my good times. About a week ago, XForgery started to go through a time of change. Most of the old people have now retired to go on with their lives, and are now passing the torch to those of us who have come after, whom they have come to know and trust enough to leave in their hands, the work the elders have accomplished. Without their guidance however the site is in a bit of an archaic state, and is currently down due to server downgrade difficulties. I do have confidence though that XForgery will live on, and those of us who have come to love it will keep it going. As for know I am going to other sites, remembering old times on ones that I have been on, and telling my story to the ones that I have recently become a member. I know that you probably don’t care about this, that your thinking you wasted your time for nothing. You can think that but first know the reason I wrote this. The first is to tell those who don’t know me, what I have done in the past, so that they can come to know and understand me. The other reason is that I felt it needed to be done. I have dedicated 2 years of my life to Halo and its multiple fan bases. I have loved this community and in return it has given me good times and good memories. I felt that this could be my way of repaying, my way of giving back, and so I wrote my story. I am not anyone famous; I am not a general in the game. I am just one man, who has enjoyed and cherished the friendships he has made thanks to this community. So, to all my old friends: Thank you for all the memories that I will remember forever. To my current friends: Thank you for all of the nights we have spent and are still spending, just having fun and doing what we love to do. And finally, to all those people that I have yet to meet…. Hey guys… I'm Sharp.
Not everyone can be famous and important in the Halo community. Its now been a year and a half that i have personally spent here and i have enjoyed it much myself.
