Chromatic revolutionizes terrain building for all custom-built Major League Gaming maps that have been built in the past. The author has succeeded in making one of the few maps that aren't bound by the chains of tradition, yet still reflect stunning balance and perfectly refined gameplay. If you're looking for a "one base here, another base on the other side" map, this isn't the one for you. But, if you're a big a fan of MLG, dissapointment in this map would be less than minute. Split into five seperate rooms, Chromatic is home to a sensible weapon layout, satisfying aesthetics, and use of contemporary line of sight mechanics. Finally!!! This is the feature that I have wanted the most for sooooo long. Thank you for finally featuring this. I absolutely love this map. BTW, the last pictures is from the first version while the other two are from the second version. Might want to change that.
Very nice, very nice. This map looks like one of the best MLG maps I've seen on Sandbox thus far. Can't Wait to see it in action. Great find Raynne.
Way to go Bob! This is right up there with Cynosure for "Rehns favorite hill map EVAR". The Aesthetics are astounding, and the only complaint I have is green room being underpowered.
Great Map man! Without a doubt worthy of a feature! I have never seen anyone use those arches to make a little cove like that. Brilliant idea. Forging doesn't get any cleaner than this, and the gamelpay looks great as well. as this has only been out for ten minutes i haven't had a chance to download and play it yet, but i look forward to doing so
About time! Testing this was tons of fun and it remains probably one of my top 3 favorite maps of all time. If you haven't played this before I highly recommend it, KotH plays amazingly! My hopes for v7
I played this last weekend actually. I'm glad it finally got the feature it deserved, even if I've never won a FFA game on the map...
Thanks Forgehub!!! I was just idling looking around and I was quite suprised when I saw this This is the first decent map of mine, and it's great to hear feedback of people actually enjoying playing on it, and wanting to switch from other maps to it. There isn't really anything more satisfying to a creator than hearing that. So thanks everyone who has supported it! I appreciate you all
WOW man that looks good, I like your structures and the flow of gameplay around the map....too bad its not in the Forge Forum map Pack.
I love this map. Who doesn't? If this map doesnt get into matchmaking, I will kill bungie. The best part of the map is the EMOTION in it when you play it. If you don't download this, you'll be very sad...
They day this was released i knew this would one day be feautred. The design is great and the gameplay is flawless. Congrats to who got featured and seriously, make more!
oh sweet i loved this map when i dled it along time ago. It was really fun for an MLG map, especially when i hate MLG maps. This is certainly feature worthy and congrats b0b43
My only experience on this map was with AR starts, and it played ok. I wasn't even aware that it was an MLG map. I guess I'll have to download it and try a few MLG customs on it.
Compile a list of effective call-outs. An MLG map MUST have a call-out for about hmmmm........ the entire map. You'll find yourself, constantly saying," Over there!" As a call-out and will not suffice for it to play like a true MLG map. an eh feature. But alas, congatz.
That's why there are 5 distinct rooms on the map....If you play it you will find callouts are relatively easy for an MLG map.
Quick, give him another feature point for the MLG Forge Forum Map Pack! UNSC Graduate to Premium! For those who don't understand, he's the organizer behind the epicness that is the MLG map pack(though this map was not included in said pack). Go to the MLG map forum and check out the map pack's thread and some of the maps themselves.
Color rooms can only go so far. It lacks precise call-outs. While some are indeed easy to identify with, the majority of the time you tend to fumble and are not able to call-out effectively.
All I can ask is you to play on the map several times over. For any first player, you can never have instantaneous callouts for each specific point at the map. However, over time the more you play it, you will develop callouts for certain points of the map. That's all I can really do. If you want more specific callouts, play it more often and figure something out with your team. I personally have a callout for every part of the map because I have probably played it 30+ times. It's not impossible.
