That being said, its not like he's making laws issuing his points. What's wrong with encouraging kids to go to school and follow their aspirations? What's wrong with relating to the youth of the country he leads? What's wrong with encouraging children, vain targets of a possible flu epidemic this season, to wash their hands? And yeah, I know the sarcasm, just adding on to it /conservative-liberal
Educational Speech..... Well I agree it was quite educational and wonderful that he addresses the Nation as well the Little nation to be. The only conflicting issue is that he should have said it at a time which wasn't during class time. I'm just one for Irony but.. besides that. I liked it, but Obama is a much better speech giver than Our last 3 presidents have been so I haven't really known anything better. Continuing with the debating that has been formed on this topic ... I feel that it is silly for you to cut down anyone that is being positive to a child. Do you honestly think any of our presidents to date have taken the time to acknowledge Children as something important? I understand Bush Jr. Made a program no Child left behind... LETs compare the notes of what that Bill composed and what the results were.... Hmm, the school systems at least in my Country had many budget cuts. Proving the system is set up so that schools doing better get more funding. The schools doing worse get less. SO if your going to a school that is bad it is only going to go down from there because they have less to work with. Geee's... how did that help? In contrast I feel that thou this is by passing the rule the pressident Needs to follow. He doing something out side of the box and being a figure head for this nation. IF by all means we need a leader... I would like to see him now. ... -Gopher
My real opinion about the speech is neutral. He's definitely targeting children because they're so impressional. I remember after 9/11, I believed everything I heard on the news after that. Until I grew up, of course. But the messages he's sending kids are harmless. Beneficial, if anything.
*agrees with sarcasm* i hate all of these stupid people who think Obama's inspirational speech is going to do anything but good. It wasn't shown in my classroom but i watched it later on youtube. It was a great speech. I absolutely hate close minded sheeplike people who just follow what their parents did, christianity and conservatism. Now if they actually had a brain and thought for themselves and came to those beliefs, thats ok. But these idiots really annoy me.
If your kid has any trace of a ****ing spine he/she would make the conscious decision whether or not to listen to the president. /liberal
No lol I was kidding.. But seriously I think it doesn't really matter and its not that big of an issue. Its great what he was saying and trying to instill in the kids who aren't doing that great in school but in my school no one really cared because we hear that kind of stuff everyday. Personally I don't care about the subject.
...... .... .... ... you know I'm Christian... Conservative and ... actually have a brain, can quite think from myself but thanks for the call out. I think it is people that are negative thinkers that are on both sides of the Line of Parties. People need to get out of this Stereo types... remember where they came from? THE OTHER SIDE TALKING BAD ABOUT YOu. ...stop being happy your Liberal or conservative, instead do something with it OR GET OFF The pot. (Shiter for those that did not know that was what THE POTTY CAN BE CALLED AS WELL)...
Why would you bring pot into this? We have more than enough threads about the illicit use of these drugs and if you feel that's not enough the internet has given you 420chan.com/weed/ Like **** man, think of the people.
I share the same view. Obama has no business with the education of an individual. He should be working on giving some economic stimulus to the middle class. Among other stuff.
Erm, he was being sarcastic. Your opinions towards Obama make you biased against his actions. That speech is nowhere near socialism at all. But, you've heard Obama as a socialist, so you automatically label his speech in the same way.
@ Redneck I see absolutely nothing wrong with telling students to have responsibility. I also believe that it was self-less to go out of his wat to inform us, the students of America to succeed and make an effort to. I don't understand why people such as yourself would disagree with such a gesture.
I see what you are saying. I try my best to view things two sided. But, though he isn't labeled as a socialist, he does some very socialist things. The speech was the same lecture kids get all the time from adults. But, why would the president need to take time off to do it himself. Trying to make America's youth smarter to save the country? I think so.
Are you kidding me?? What the **** do you think the No Child Left Behind Act is? Your precious Bush signed that bill... The president has all the right in the world to deal with education. Ever heard of a man named John F. Kennedy? He pushed for mathematics and science educational reforms after Sputnik, and what happened? We put a man on the moon, that's all.
