I just wanted to see what kind of controls everybody plays on. I play on default but i heard that some MLG players play on bumper jumper. Just say which controls and why. Im just curious. Example: I play on green thumb because I played call of duty before halo. EDIT: im sorry, i conpletely forgot about boxer Also, I just wanted toemtion that I believe that bumper jumer is nice, but i tried it out and its a pain in the a** to switch nades when you're br-ing.
I believe there is actually a thread made for this already, but oh well. I love to play MLG, and most MLG players do play on Bumper Jumper. Bumper Jumper gets its advantage from not having to remove your thump from the right analog stick to hit A and jump. It used RB to jump, thus giving a much more clean, less choppy sweep. It also appears to increase your reaction time, because you don't have to jump then turn. Bumper Jumper is how i roll. With 7 sensitivity.
Bumper Jumper, sensitivity depends on how I am playing that day, but I snipe a lot so it goes from 1 to 4. I used to play on 7 with my shitty controller that didn't work right, now it does
My setup; Button Layout: Bumper Jumper Sensitivity: 5 Crouch: Hold to Crouch. Now check what the most common MLG controls are. Just noticed that last week.
Button Layout: Boxer Stick layout : default No inversion 3 sensitivity for br's 5 sensitivity for snipers. Back in the h2 days anyone on Boxer could out bxr or double shot anyone on green thumb or what ever for that fact, it doesn't really matter but it just makes it easier for me to not change. Oh and sometimes i play claw style but i think that is Green thumb layout? idk i forgot.
I play on default simply because I cant get bumper jumper right. I tried to play with bumper jumper in matchmaking and kept on failing at beating people down and jumping when I didn't need to. I can see though how it would make playing better, but its just not for me. Although, maybe when I reach 35 skill I'll start using bumper jumper (im on 34 skill).
My setup; Button Layout: Bumper Jumper Sensitivity: 10 Crouch: Hold Inversion: Yes Sticks: Southpaw Handposition: CLAW MUTHAPHUKKAS. Yep Walshy style. I use my index fingers for the buttons and my ring fingers for the bumpers.
Default because, that's the way I picked up the game, and I didn't realize it wasn't the best setup until after I had already gotten good at Default. Maybe someday I'll switch, but not now. I play on sensitivity one. I changed it to this from default after playerhata's thread on leveling up. My br and sniper are amazing because of this, and I've gotten so good at dealing with people jumping above my head I barely even notice when I have to compensate for the slow looking up and down. Basically, if I get you in my sights, your dead, period. But I've learned never to tell your friends what sensitivity you play on. Then they know your weakness. They run circles around my blind spots.
Default. (I never really paid attention to the diff. settings. Halo CE was my first shooter, so i just rolled with it, and it stuck with me. Im gonna look into trying the bumper jumper tho) Sensetivity: 3 Crouch: Toggle
Why does everyone play on toggle crouch? It is terribad and I wish I could turn it of in the CoD games.
im one of those people that utilizes the toggle crouch ability to stop people from seeing me on radar while playing on small maps with lots of corners and such. its just easier so i dont have to restrain myself by constantly pushing and holding that down.
from what ive seen/ heard, ive formed an opinion that default is for the beginners, but then once you get to a certain point, if you want to get better, switch to Bumper Jumper.
If I could get something like Walkie talkie, but put equipment on the shoulder instead of TC, I would have the perfect control scheme. I barely jump, which hurts me by having jump on the bumper.
