an interesting question entered my mind today... Why does accepting jesus as your saviour make you a better person? do you just magically become...better?
it doesnt. i see it as believing jesus was your savior would let you reach judgement, then that decides if your next destination is heaven or hell. one thing, science is just as far fetched as religion. people say, oh the scientists can prove it. but the only reason you think that is because they say it. so science is basically the same as religion. people "making up" excuses for things we probably still dont understand.
What? Science doesn't just say, "Oh Evolution is what really happened because we say so" like the Bible does for creationism. Evolution, and any part of science, is never taken to be true until it has been more than thoroughly and rigorously tested in and out with many different trials and different scientists. And even then it is still further tested and tested and tested. You can't make that claim realistically at all.
how can you test evolution? and how do you know its been tested. the scientist COULD be lying, making falls claims and stating that they are true. And im not claiming that any of this it true mind you, im just throwing out ideas.
Heres 1 example of evolution I posted this a while back and its pretty solid. It shows how one species of finch who evolved due to the different types of food it eats.
THe way I see it most people are stupid enough to belive anything. Either because they want it to be true or belive it is. Given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool. Now my point to this is, since what I said is true does this mean God does not exist it doesn't. One does not have to have knowledge, facts, or beliefs to know there is a God. Look around you and use your reason I say.True reason can point out to the fact that there is a God. Otherwise what could our reason for existing be.
...like believing in a god so you won't eternally suffer? Using my reason, I have no inclination to believe in a god. As far as we know, our purpose is to survive.
Not very long it is based on the finches of the galapgose islands which were brought to the islands during the 1800's and over a couple hundred years the beaks changed do to different foods on the islands then they had on the mainland. The diagram shows some island finches some mainland and I believe some ancient ones. This just shows how adaptive animals become to survive and to live better.
There is no reason to exist. Except to live the one life you have, instead of waiting to die to go to another.

Maybe. Some peoples sole reason for believing in God is because of their fear of death. As for what your reason states, a persosns reason is his own can't blame him for it. For me its pretty simple. Am I meant to Understand God no, am I meant to Understand the universe no. God exists. My reason for thinking so. I am here, the universe is here, though there maybe terrible things going on in the world our ability to love stands above it all. Our ability to love is proof enough there is a God. In my opinion at least.
Our ability to love is so to help us with reproduction, something we need to do to survive. Not to have proof of God.
Help us with reproduction. Wow never saw that coming. Love is not only about reproduction. Love is about helping those who cannot help themselves as well. I mean to say love is soley about reproduction is not right. To love a woman just because she is capable of bearing your children thats Dark Age. Now a days you love a woamn because she completes you, because she can make you smile or make the day better.
I never said anything about woman only having the cause to bear children. That's in the bible. I am just saying the ability to love is in now way a proof of God.
exactly. instinct would create the urge to reproduce, but not love. And i agree that the existence of the universe is proof of god. because how did the universe get there?
