Most of you forgers out there don`t know me, but I would love to get to know every single one of you. Heli-Pad is my 3rd installment to my map pack called the Majestic Map Pack(MMP for short). Probably most of you are asking "OMGWTFBBQ iz r tha magestik map pak?!?1" Well the MMP is a map pack that I have been making for quite sometime now and the MMP consists of 6 well thought out maps from Infection to straight up slayer. Our beloved ForgeHub member "SVVEET SAUC3" has posted the previous Majestic Maps. To view them, just click the tags below. Besides that, lets get to know Heli-Pad shall we? Story: The year is 2550 and the UNSC asigned the ODST Naval Division a special assignment which was to construct a camoflaughed hanger for desert operations. 2 months after completion, ODST soldiers were loading their ammunition stocks for when they storm the Ark until Covenant Brutes beached the south gate of the hanger and stoped every beating heart on that hanger. 1 year later, recentlly promoted ODST generals were given one valuable assignment. The assignment was to recpature most of the hanger as they can so ODST soldiers can drop. The generals headed for the barracks to get their troops and begin the end of the fight! Description: This is my first Conquest map, my first Symmetrical map, and my first map post here on ForgeHub. The map is basically your average Conquest layout, but it holds something that many maps don`t have and that is ACTIVE ASTHETICS. Active asthetics (Is what I call them) are asthetic on a map that are visible and move ina realistic pattern such as the pallet parade for example. The active asthetics on this map is a hornet that lands realistically on the Heli-Pad that is placed outside of the map at the middle territory. Here are the weapons list. Weapons: 2 Sniper Rifles: 90sec respawn)_0spare clips 2 Brute Shots: 90sec respawn_1spare clip 2 Battle Rifles: 30sec respawn_1spare clip 2 Plasma Pistols: 90sec respawn 4 SMGs: 20sec respawn_1spare clip(for each) 4 Frag Grenades: 30sec respawn 4 Spike Grenades: 30sec respawn Pictures: Blue Base Blue Sniper (same as the red base) Blue Hallway Middle Territory The Heli-Pad (Hornet lands at 60sec into the round) Red Hallway Red Base Thanks: GunnerGrunt and Ellement: Thanks for helping me test and give me weapon suggestions. Looks awesome. I love the idea of the Hornet landing and the little grate covering the way towards it. I would totally download it... except you forgot the DL link. Another thing, for the weapon spawns: In most Conquest maps, weapon spawn times are very short so there is always something available to push forward or defend yourself with. Generally, they don't change much from the standard 30 seconds, if not shorter, and usually have 2 spare clips. For example, your Brute Shot will only respawn 30 seconds before the round ends, effectively removing itself from the available weapons for more than half the game. You may want to look into that.
Omg i knew my first post was to good to be true lol thx for telling me I realize that, but due to the maps size, the respawn time fits into the map fine.
Ok, I haven't had a chance to play any on this yet, but I forged through it a bit. I agree now that does necessitate the long spawn time on the Brute Shot. One potential problem I saw was the two Wall, Slits facing down on each spawn. One thing that I thought right away is that these could be used to spawn kill from relative safety, because you are in cover, can retreat very easily, and the people spawning do not have many weapons to counter. Again, I haven't seen how it actually plays out, but that is one scenario I could see happening. I suggest either replacing the lower Wall, Slit with a normal wall, or lowering the spawn time on the Brute Shot to 60 or 90, and also lowering its clip size to 0 spare clips. Also, do all of those tube pieces and the structure with the turret behind one of the spawns serve any purpose?
This had got to by one of the better Conquest maps. The aestheticsare very nice and the heli-pad is a grrat idea and adds to aesthetics. I dont know what others think but i think you should decrease the respawn time on some of the weapons. Either way good first map, cant wait for more stuff.
Despite that fact, it will take the 3 seconds to reach the enemy team. They cannot shoot the enemies right when they spawn because the enemies have height advantage, cover, and an easy retreat. With the Brute Shot gone most of the game, it would probably be hard for a spawning team to kill and push back a team set up in that area already. But I'd love to join you for a game to see for myself if you are up for it. Also, you didn't answer this: do all of those tube pieces and the structure with the turret behind one of the spawns serve any purpose?
All right ill change the sniper and brute spawn to 90 sec, ill change the link and respawn time as soon as i get my xbox back which will definetlly be tomorrow. No they are just for asthetics. No they are just for asthetics.
This map has a ton of aesthetically intriguing pieces such as the exterior view of the air vehicles, the architectural structures and the way that the middle flag is positioned. The map looks amazing for gameplay and looks like a great addition to Conquest. This is my personal opinion and it probably works out in gameplay, but I wouldnt touch the Sniper Rifle due to the close quarters environment on this map- it seems as if you can only No-Scope people and nothing more...
This map looks epic win aesthetically, and it is totally awesome playability. I really love how the hornet 'lands' in the middle of the game, and it really adds to the awesomeness of the map in general. I always love conquest maps, and I always love it when people make them really good. This gets five stars and my download.
Jenkins!!!!Nice post!!!!!1!1!!!!!!1! Your spelling is off only with the spelling of aesthetics. The map is gorgeous and plays beautifully. I didn't read through everything but did you miss mentioning the two random falling hornets. Hope the other maps get as good feedback as helipad. I guess you can help test my map later tomorrow. I really love the hornet outpost and the curved windows... BTW, Is the flag that blue in game (4th screenshot)?
Yes it is because I was on the blue team and captured the territories because i wanted to show where they are.
Great map, well forged, the idea of the hornet landing is truely creative. All around good job, havent tested yet but i can't wait.
This map was a very good test and it plays very nicely with conquest. I liked how you cut off the lines of sight from the side basses and middle hallway . That helped gameplay alot so not only could players not kill enemies running into the hall way but it also gave much needed cover as well. Its a fun map and you did good work forging it :].
