Update: Doing this glitch with moveable objects creates a normal object, like usual, only this time it's the one your holding. While still holding the object though, the other object has no gravity boundaries, and will bounce around.
i just made an invisible cage in forge with this glitch my buddy cant turn into a monitor and is trapped lol. awesome find guys
This glitch is definately a dream come true, but hopefully we can find a way so that the merged object will always be visable, because while there are certain advantages to having it be invisible, there are disadvantages too. Using this technique to do regular merges could make maps look weird because at certain angles objects will just disappear. I would find this annoying on a regular competetive map. But still amazing that you found this, I can't believe that this has gone undiscovered for so long.
The item becoming invisible may be a problem with being the host in the video about how to dummy an item says that you must not be the host to do it correctly. YouTube - Basic Immovable Item Dummying Glitch/Levitation Tutorial
no no no. I made that video for the Levitation glitch in my glitch montage. In order for it to look like your levitating, you cannot be host. But for the no-clip glitch, you must be host. I was just using that video because it was the dummying glitch.
I don't know if this has been posted or not yet, but another thread in the halo forge discussion page is about the no-clip object appearing invisible at a certain angle after placement. Just wondering if maybe this means there would be a way to make invisible barriers with the no-clip objects? Sorry again if this has already been posted but I don't want to sift through 20 pages of text.
It hasnt been posted that im aware of. But the invisible barriers will only work for the host. Which means no invisible barriers for us.
I just remade a wall which stretches across a large portion of Avalanche, this method is so easy! I wish some one found it sooner!
Yeah I was just thinking of this. Blocking of areas just got so much easier. This can make making Conquest and Infection maps so much easier.
Okay. Im so sorry that I couldnt accidently screw up my map for you sooner. (sarcasm) And yes, this did jack up my map because I was so amazed and rushed into theater just for you without saving. Now instead of having an amazing sniper tower, my ffa map (pictured in the first video rendered on this thread) will simply have a less awesome tower. Note; This happened the very first time I tried to forge with OLN objects. Coincidence? Nope, I'm just awesome. Bonus: This could be a really good selling point for the forementioned ffa map. 'The No-Clip forge glitch was discovered in the beginning stages of production...' One last thing, what you are all saying about the invisible object is true. It only effects the host, and only if its more than halfway in the ground. You could really jack over the host with this =)
so if an item becomes invisible it only affects the host. does that mean that anyone who downloads a map that used this glitch and the maker put it to far into the ground, the host will be the only one that won't be able to see the items. Also what if it is in split screen?
If the host is on slit screen both people wont be able to see it, because host is on a specific console, not a person. Every player on the host console will (not) see the glitch. And, if you download a map and play a game while you are host, your console wont see the object, but every other seperate console will. Finally, regardless of whether you see the object or not, it is still there, and therefore works as cover. Like super-hard air.
