Same Results Through reading all of the posts in this thread, it appears that their is more than one method to arrive at these same results. The quickest and easiest method though seems to be the one demonstrated in tylyr1's video. Ghost Merging makes the most sense. That or Clone Merging. Edit: He really should show in that video the fact that you can just press "A" when you have your item merged where you want it and the item stays there without needing to save and quit. That's one of the coolest parts.
yeah i think he should add tylyr1's method to this thread. now if we can do this glitch on non oln objects
Only works with OLN objects, which used to be the hardest to fuse. Unfortunately since this only works with OLN we cant do it with every type of object. I wish this were more conveneint, but it is what it is. I vote for YoYo merging. lol jk/ I was thinking no-clip because thats what it is, but ghost merging flows better. Right now, Im working on making the official Tutorial, thanks go to Fritzer for making it work, and tylyr1 for strealining and making a video. Me? All I did was accidently discover it.
Well that is unfortunate. Gar at bungie and their limiting our forging in so many ways. >=( Well, maybe with time we'll be able to figure out non-OLN objects. However, until then, YoYo, you should work on finding a glitch to no-clip stretch/compress objects. As that would be EPIC. I expect this assignment to be complete by tomorrow. JK. But seriously, this is a great find that will help forging ALOT. While I personally vote for Ghost merging, (kind of what I've called it since I read through this thread) YoYo merging should be taken seriously, he did find this.
So basically, we've found a method to clone objects without contributing to the money budget, This is most likely the best find since geomerging. Great job, I'm accually suprised were finding new glitches this far after the relesase.
Everything below is the tutorial. If you think I should add something, or change something else, just post in this thread. Also, thanks to Pegasai Delta (I think) for stickying this. [= .:Ghost Merging Tutorial:. =] Ghost merging is the newest method of forging, and it involves duplicating OLN objects, and essentially turning them into 'Ghost' objects, or objects with a no-clip and no gravity. This method of forging is slightly innacurate, but many techniques can be used to make it easier. If your confused, tylyr1 made a video that will be posted below. Now, for the tutorial; Step 1: Download and start a forge session on an OLN canvas. An OLN canvas is a map with all of the original peices on it. You could alternitavely start a session of the default, but I personally am not fond of clutter. Step 2: Choose which object you want to have No-Clip enabled on (In the case of the video, double block) . Remember, IT MUST BE OLN!!! If it isnt OLN, you just wasted your time, because this only works with OLN objects. Take two OLN copies of whatever object your using and move them away from where they spawned at the start of the game. Step 3: Open the object menu for each box and set Spawn at Start: No. Remember, both objects you moved. Step 4: Start a new Round. Now stop and check something right away. After you started a new round, both of the objects should have moved back to where they were when you started the game. Furthermore, they should be ungrabbable. If not, you didnt use OLN object, or didnt change Spawn at Start to No. Step 5: Simply wait thirty seconds, untill they reset and allow you to grab them. Step 6: Without moving it, set one of the two objects Spawn at Start: Yes, and the Respawn Time: Never. This is critical. Step 7:Set the second object to Spawn at Start: Yes, then brab it and just sit there untill the first block resets again. If you did this correct, the object that had Respawn: Never, should dissapear. Now, without letting go of the object that you are holding, open the Object Menu and set the Run Time Min. to the highest possible number. Basically, force spawn the object in your hands. Step 8: As soon as you complete Step 7, the object you are holding should duplicate. One will just sit there untill you place the other one, which you are holding. (Regarding the object you cant move; It dissapears after you place the Ghost Enable object. However, I have a theory that a partener can grab it. Never tested though...) The Object in your hand will be magical. Basiaccly it turns into a No-Clip object. You can place it in any wall, push it into any ground, float it in any position. All you need to use it to make an OMG awesome map. Waiting for the vid? Here it is, all credit to tylyr1; YouTube - Halo 3 Forge Immovable Object No Clipping I did find this glitch, but totally on accident. People like tylyr1, and Fritzer who cleaned it up deserve as much credit as I do. Also, if you want to test for any bumps before you place it, try this:
Yes it does clone, but it doesn't stay cloned... Example: When you clone it, one object starts floating around while you hold its clone. Once you start a new round/new game, only one object will appear. It's like putting an immovable object on top of another object then deleting the object from underneath it. It appears that the immovable object floats, but once you mess around with it it soon falls.
Long overdue sticky. Glad to see this method coming along, nice find YoYo, and props to Fritz and tylyr as well for tidying the method up and making it useable.
Ahem... not to try to steal anybody's thunder or anything... but I've also made a tutorial and posted it somewhere else. Tell me what you think..? Spoiler -Compiled/edited by: ER1C0 (yea me!) -Founded by: Death YoYo -Tutorial based on Glitch100 & Fritzster's tutorial over at FH -Video by: Tylyr1 Story: One day, a young man named Death YoYo was flying about in forge and accidentally tripped over a glitch. Little did he know that this glitch would change forge forever. Glitch Description: After a series of steps, you're able to move one object wherever you want. This object will go through everything. This includes: map geometry, Spartans, Elites, movable objects, immovable objects, etc.. I will warn you that this ultimate glitch full of awesomeness is rather confusing to complete and may take anywhere from 60+ seconds to complete per object. Yes, some may see it as worthless, while others may see it as the Mona Lisa of forge. Note: This technique works on all DLC maps, and can be used with any immovable OLN object. Descriptive Tutorial: Start on a map with all the default items placed Pick up and move at least 3 of the same objects Set 2 of the 3 objects to Spawn at Start: NO *Optional: Set those same 2 objects to Respawn Time: 10 (just for your own convenience) Set the Run Time Minimum option to its maximum number allowed Start a new round Wait about 10-30 seconds Go to where you originally grabbed the objects from. Grab one of the objects you previously used and fly around with it for about 30-60 seconds. If nothing happens, try grabbing another one of the objects and repeat the same step It should clone so that one of the objects will start floating, and the one you're holding should be able to go through any object Video Tutorial: This video is a bit different from the Descriptive Tutorial listed above.. If you want this version's Descriptive Tutorial, just click here. Now for the video: YouTube - Halo 3 Forge Immovable Object No Clipping Note About Vectors: Ending Notes: There are slightly different ways of doing this glitch and there may be much more room for improvement. These are just the beginning stages of this glitch, so nobody's really sure how to perfect it... yet. The End Just reply if you have any questions or comments.
Hey, Im open to suggestions, we just need one that works perfectly, and doesnt spend so much time talking about how awesome I am... I changed my mind. This is based totally on fact and is perfect. I gotta go now, be back on later. If something epic happens, like I get promoted to mod... lol... somebody message me. I dont want to be gone three hours and find out that my method is obsolete (again.) Also, this just entered it 40th hour since original posting. Hasnt even been two days. Look at the veiws and posts, and try too imagine how awsome I feel for having so much support in getting this to work.
lol, yea, I tried to add more of a story part to it.. Ya know, to capture the essence of... Oh what am I talking about, I totally BS'd it lol
I would like to know if I have moderator permission to post my guide in forging 201/101, and which location it would better fit in. Or, am I being stupid.
No you don't. But if you contact an admin I am sure he would be happy to allow you to place your guide into Forging 101.
Wow.... That is an incredibly helpful tool to use and could revolutionize forge... This seems like the best way to geomerge and float objects quickly.
this would probably go to 201 also the TITLE should really be changed to something around "No Clipping OLN Objects" because New forge glitch is not very informing, and will become old
This makes my maps look like garbage! (especially the OLNBC level) Now that geomerging is so easy, I think forgehub will have new standards on what is good geomerging.
I debated about Trying to turn all of the Original objects to not spawn at start so we could theoretically place them all at once...It would only be something to worry about if you can't stay focused and place the same object in two places... Let me explain better. We could make a canvas that focus's on the Trick by setting all the Default objects to 10 second re-spawn and Min/max. I think this will add to the OLN canvas just a little and make it so you can still tell which objects are bugged. I would feel that there is a catch to all of this thou. If you wanted to place all of these OLN in a single round you could arise to the issue of the object re-spawning in the before spot... Don't fear It will resume in the spot that you placed it like it portrays in Fritz video. This is just a marker you need to remember which of the object, from a stack of similar objects you pull go where. That is about all I can think to improve your Glitch Yo-yo.... Btw do you mind yo-yo Death? or any other short hand name? NVM re-read first post... title should be fixed to reflect the new title as well the name of the Trick.
