Toxic Spade showed me this a while back near when Sandbox first came out, and he knows how to do it still, he done it with walls, he has a video in his fileshare still I am pretty sure. Which i nao have rendered here: http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=68965832
I'm very skeptical. It seems to me this is just some random glitch and not something you could repeat on demand. Would be awesome if we could do this though.
omg I came. again. (dont ask why for the first time) I haz a theory on how you did this let me go test it out. Answer these questions im sure you canr emember Was the OLN object set on NO respawn? Did you force spawn the object? Did you place the OLN object somewhere while it was on no respawn? You picked the OLN object up and placed it somewhere, then spawned another identical object in its vincinity, The object you picked up in the end was the original OLN object or the spawned object? Give us everything you did! cmon we got to figure it out Your making me suffer. Just tell us everything you did. Btw maybe its YouTube - How to Fly Any Vehicle in Halo 3- H3A Productions but with objects? o_o *pulls my hair out* cant figure itout and its making me mad.
I have got to try this right this very second! Too bad you won't be able to brace the object and crap to make it straight and geomerged. Now a bunch of noobs are going to abuse this, and we'll be able to tell, because this doesn't make the merges accurate. Has anybody tested to see if you can save the map with objects like this?
I've done this before, but I didnt think anything of it, thought it was another random OLN bitchglitch so I restarted the round each time. Don't know how it happened though.
I just thought about that. If we decide to use this technique, it'll be more of guess and check work. Which might even take longer. In the video, did he try with any movable objects like barricades or column damaged small? If so, were they able to merge with everything? Shock Theta's video in this thread wasn't working a few hours ago with the same message, but is now. I'm not sure why mine won't work. It seems to lag my firefox whenever the video is on my screen though. I'm trying with some other of my rendered bnet videos, none of them work.
OMFG! If this **** works, I will personally go to bungie and get you reconz! But, really, this would make things a crapload easier than having to interlock>brace>check>geomerge>did it wrong>redo till perfect. Tutorial PLEASE?
This is really close. But, I do know how I did it now; 1.Grab OLN object. 2.Set spawn at start: No. It might also help if you have respawn at like ten, or twenty. 3.DO NOT SAVE, but start a new round. 4.Go to the object, grab it, and move it to anywhere else on the map. 5.Wait however long you set the respawn time too. 6.After that, the object should duplicate. The one you were holding will randomly float around utill you start a new round then disapear. You will now be holding the other one, and it will have no gravity as well as no clip. 7. Play around for a few minutes. 8. Build the most OMG awesome map on Forge Hub. Yes, I will have another demo in my fileshare tonight. On that wasnt an accident.
Oops, forgot a few steps! Also added some clarity. Sorry, Ill try not to do that again. Also, yes, you can save it. In fact, you have to save it before you start a new round, or the game will freeze. Edit: Wont be back on again till after 3:00, The steps might not yet be totally 100%. Ill think about it all day, but its probably going to involve making a video before it gets perfect. Any suggestions on how to streamline it are welcome.
Steps 1 and 2. do you need to hold the item? Also, when I try step 8, it's always the ghost of the object that's there. I've been working at your guide a bit, it's not working for me. I've even tried doing some other stuff as well, but I can't get it working. When I move the object for step 7 and start new round, it'll spawn back at the place that I save/quit.
Rendered videos have to be in a fileshare to play, otherwise it throws you the error. [bungievid]92590057[/bungievid] [bungievid]92600101[/bungievid]
Its understandable if his guide isn't entirely accurate. But this could be a major discovery. So everyone help eachother out and try different methods. If we can get this under wraps; new forging ideas which were quite difficult before would be entirely possible.
This is what I've tried: Pick up an original object that's used in the normal layout of Sandbox Set the respawn time to 10 Set the Run Time Minimum to its maximum allowed Release the object, save, and quit Start a new game Wait 10-30 seconds (respawn time is really weird with the original objects so you never really know the exact time) and then I'm able to pick the object up (the object never really spawns... It's just that at 10-30 seconds into the game the object disappears then reappears about 1 sec later and my reticule turns green when I go over the "new" object) I move the object about 10 ft away and start a new round Now this is where I'm confused. When I start the new round I'm not able to pick up the object, just like what happens the first round. So it's a never ending cycle between steps 6 and 7... Help???
^what he said^ Anyhoo, this is a great discovery, which will revolutionize the way we forge, no longer will I have to spend days geomerging in sandbox thank you for this I'm gonna test it out tonight once I get on my box
