Ever since ForgeHub held its official 1v1 tournament, the revolution of foundry has began, Before the tournament most foundry maps consisted of most of the map and were put together using the large open space, making few sotry buiding and what not but ever since the tournament was introduced there has been a major increase of unique maps ment for 1v1, 2v2, or other small game like such This to me ahs been really big, i love these maps so thank you FH community keep the maps a-comin
i have made 2 or 3 1v1 maps, i know what you mean the rate of 1v1 maps being created has increased, but they're also getting more creative since which is good.
Very good point, just like every other thing that has happened to ForgeHub,timed map events and the money glitch for example. we found them and made them popular and B.net and the rest of the forging community followed, you could say that we are the cutting edge of forging.
Well, we'll see what happen when the Legendary Pack comes out. Was playing those horrid (except for the Manor) Living Dead maps and kids were screaming about their "awesome color effect racing map on Avalanche".
could say? we ARE the cutting edge, when has b.net come up with an idea that hasn't been on forgehub first? i've never found a forging site like forgehub, but then again, i can't even remember how i found forgehub...
It's always interesting to think about what might be the next step forward. One bit of advice I would give here is to avoid at all costs releasing any maps on the legendary pack in the first week.
Most likely because all the other maps that everyone makes that end up horrible will be clogging up both these and the B.net forums and yours will be lost among them.
There should be a delete feature (automatic) for those posts by kids who have made teh ahsum "black and white zombies with sealed off exits on avalanche"
In my sense, I pretty much think Forge Hubs is the place to be. Considering toturals of how-to-dos and well, the great maps that are posted here. Also there is people here to test out the maps and help you improve on your forge skills...
Definately, altho i doubt any good ones will come out in the first week. It'd take aout a week just to get the feel or flow of the map and learn all the nooks and crannies.Nvm make a map thats worth playing. Everyone will just want to be the first to click forge and add "foggy" and post it up hoping they get used as a the canvas over the 44,433,469,465,924,561,495 other twats who did the same
I am going to be very frighten when the legendary pack comes out, won't be good for map designing on foundry with the clutter of bad maps and stupid zombie types as well. So I guess forge hub could use that time in testing and designing maps on heroic and legendary maps.
While the bungie.net'ers are going crazy, jumping for joy over there nw "ahsumo l337 zumbeh map on blakkout wid da old times fiters!!!!!" The overlords of forgehub will be well hidden in their genii bunkers laughing. While all others are losing their heads the mad scientists of the forge world will be creating truly awesome pieces of work,waiting...watching for the shitestorm of bad maps to end so they can reveal to the world the masterpieces they have hidden.... Slightly prophetic but is a good idea of what will happen. Foundry will still be used but the idiots with the attention span of gnats will have moved on.The typical really bad maps will be on the ledendary ones. So the foundry maps "should" improve a reasonable amount,to which i am very happy.
Oh will that be a interesting day. Don't get me wrong, I will try to forge on the new legendary maps to see what I can come up with. But I won't release anything untill storm passes and then I could get my maps properily reviewed. It makes it even harder to find good ones in bad ones when there is a flood of them coming in. Like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
I agree with everyone, first of all. We are the cutting edge. There are two reasons, one of which is obvious: WE ARE BADASSES!!! The second reason has to do with our "exploits." By exploits I mean Interlocking and GeoLocking - both techs were never meant to be used. However, clever forgers found this out through tinkering with the object settings and experimentation. The money glitch is, well, a glitch that is probably not looked at as a good thing by Bungie. They can't do anything about it though because its their code that allows such a glitch. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Bungie themselves never knew of these techs, therefore never had a chance to be the cutting edge. Why do you think you have never seen a tut on the B.net website? They made a huge deal and went into great detail about campaign scoring, so why not forge? All we got was a short little ViDoc that came out before the game was released. Its because they didn't even know this kind of stuff was possible. Just how super-jumping was discovered by the players in Halo 2, so too are new forging techs being discovered by the players; both of which were never even known possible by Bungie. In summary, we are the cutting edge for two reasons: 1. We are awesome. 2. Bungie didn't know half the things we do were even possible. --dc
Personally I like small games, because my connection is mucho shitty. That's why I barely play big team. Team doubles ftw. +rep.
