Halo's Edge Created by Danooodle HELP BOX AT THE END! This is my first map on forge hub. It is an intemediate Jumping Map with several Cool parts. There is one checkpoint and a VIP point for those who really want one. There are 3 Custom Powerups that can be found around the map. I started with 'Purple' and worked from there. Please note that there are issues with the spawns but i really dont think it is worth it for the sake of 5 seconds per game. also, make sure grenades are jurned off and respawns are set as low as possible. The creator! Help for Several Parts! Spoiler PT.1 Beginning to Red Room Spoiler At the Beginning, you have to edgejump the first jump, which suprisingly, half of my testing party could not do until I told them. There is a ledge behind the First Turret part for a better angle Climbing up the ledge can be difficult, but recently I have been Jumping onto the closest part, then jumping onto either the small ledge above it on onto the main ledge. Diagram Spoiler Jump onto the closest part of the ledge and jump imediatley on landing. Repeat until on the main part of the ledge. PT.2Red to Mancannon Spoiler Be careful jumping into the red room, as contact with the wall will kill you, maybe... Hold RB (or whatever your equivelent for getting into vehicles/turrets) as you drop onto the Mancannon ledge.(There is a turret in the wall!) PT.3Man cannon to Checkpoint Spoiler Walk to the end of the 2nd small ledge or you will over shoot the jump Drop to the left from the 3rd ledge! you cant reach the roof from there! PT.4 Checkpoint to Slidejump Spoiler Follow the way the checkpoint faces. Jump on to the wall and in to the mancannon The wall jump is one of the hardest parts, and cant really be described that well, but here we go. Do not edge jump! when you reach the ledge, you will hit it and slide up it. on the way down, jump backwards and crouch in mid air, holding back. PT.5 Slide Jump 1 to Crane Spoiler Jump around the corner onto the small ledge then crouch jump up onto the building. Jump from the Cargo to the ledge on the crane (The crane can not be skipped on your own) Edge jump from the arm of the crane at Tangent to the ledge you have to land on. PT.6 Last 2 towers Spoiler hold Back as you slide down the last slidejump, and forwards whilst you are in midair. carefully walk around the building and jump onto the platform below. Finished! Bugs! Spoiler Jumping into the man cannon can fire you over the landing point, through the camo and onto the 'blue' roof The Wall run and jump can be skipped by jumping over the upright ramp to the left of the checkpoint and straight onto the slidejump(hard) Jumping onto the siderail at the second slide jump lets you jump ontop of the final tower and get the camo EDIT> It is then possible to jump ontop of the start building, melee-grab a flare and jump up to where the lights are, There is random equipment here and you can flare jump onto the Second building block (Camo 1) EDIT>> By making use of an exploding powerdrain you can reach the top of camo 1 and still have a flare. this can be used either to reach overshield 1 of you can jump to the blue building, do both the jumps and then work your way onto the big wall at the back. I never really cared too much for jump maps, but I have to say this looks very entertaining. As long as the checkpoint system is good I should hopefully manage to avoid breaking my controler in frustration, lol
nice this looks like it has great asthetics and gameplay. i love me a jump map (along with selena gomez) and if the checkpoints work i probably wont kill myself because i cant finish the course.
There is a very obvious difficulty curve here, and honestly, it's really well done. i prefer starting out hard, but this will be great for people starting out on jump maps or people who are "in the middle". also, maybe it's been done before, but I've never seen it, so i have to say: i love the turret ladder.
This looks like great fun Its also given me some more forge ideas, which recently i have been lacking In my download que now Great work! EDIT: Can i also say, this may even bring about a new style of Jump map!?
intermetiate jump course? These are all very basic jumps, Although you map may look neat, on the hard scale 3/10
Your map is exceptionally better than your friends. He said that you helped interlock the bridges but you should have took a bit more time with helping them. Anyways, great jump map and I can't wait to try it. Never really got slide jumps down perfect, I have to see this!
Thanks and I respect your opinion, so here is my ranking system so you know where I am getting from: Beginer: Can Jump from A to B Intemediate: Knows some tricks. (Slide jumps etc.) Expert: More advanced tricks (Ghost jumps etc.) Professional: The best. Most jumps excecuted perfectly. Finds many new Jumps. First of all- this map is genius. Hardest jump map that I have played in a long time. Second- you are one cruel, cruel person. I did not read any spoilers and had to go through for 40 mins trying to do it... You should probably move the spoilers. Also one thing that annoted the hell out of me and I seriously want to reforge it is the ledge jump right after climbing the pipe (jumping from the lower ledge to the higher ledge right before jumping into the red room) the bump would completely knock me off or I would slide off...
Yes, that part is very difficult, as most people would agree. There is a tactic though, See the picture below Spoiler Jump onto the closest part of the ledge and jump imediatley on landing. Repeat until on the main part of the ledge. Hope this helps!
I love that jump, it took me a while to get the hang of it. Anyways, I just want to tell you I downloaded and me and my friends really love it! BUT 1 THING: you can do the last slide jump or you could jump on the ledge next to it and jump to the active camo and complete the level. I guess it's a glitch, cause it doesn't look like it was your intention.
I haven't played the map yet but I can say that I'm very excited about it, loved the video, good job on you first forge hub map and please come check out my map Paranoid Park, I'm look forward to your next map.
+ Does alot of things I have not seen before + feels like mirrors edge + Checkpoint was placed in a good spot + Very challenging - Very challenging (lol) - A lack of gunfire which would have made it seem even more like Mirrors Edge Score: 8.5/10
I love it. Well made, neatly forged, and for those who have actually played mirrors edge its very similar. My favorite part was where you made a pipe that you could climb with merged turrets. I foresee plenty of good ideas from you.
I remember playing this map. I LOVE it! It feels so much like mirror's edge. I have a found some ways to cheat though. Here are some that I remember. *You can ghost out of the map right after the first turret ladder. *I couldn't say exactly where, but you can avoid going into the building if you late jump on top of it (not sure if it was on MLG speeds though). *You can slide jump from the checkpoint without using the hidden man cannon path. *I can't remember if it matters, but you can jump on top of the last tiny building of the course if you jump on the railings (whatever they are). Also, it was a really confusing map, try to make the path more obvious, but a little puzzle is good. Just don't hide things where people can't really see them. An example of that is the turret out of the inside of the building. Anyways, I still love this map and I can't wait to see what you do with your next one.
I love this map, good job in makeing it in Halo forge on Machinma.com! The map is pretty hard like those ninja challanges that everybody plays but I like this way easyer because it is beatable!
