Invent A Skull! Much like the Invent A Skull! thread hosted by Mr. Skittles, based off of a thread started in the Bungie.net forums. This thread is for coming up with ideas for the skulls in Halo 3: ODST's Firefight mode. If you had no idea there are going to be skulls in Firefight mode up until now, continue reading. As we all should know by now, Halo 3: ODST will include a single or cooperative campaign mode named Firefight. Firefight will be much like Gears of War 2's Horde mode, but Halo style. In Firefight, players will be pinned against an infinite amount of Covenant and Brute forces for 3 waves per round, 5 rounds per set. After each set all of the resources will be replenished, and each player will be given a break long enough to get back together to regroup. Regardless of the difficulty, the Tough Luck skull will be enabled from the start. With each new set, more skulls become enabled. The player will be able to choose from four skulls at the start: Blind, Cowbell, the Grunt Birthday Skull, and IWHBYD; their effects are the same as in Halo 3. But as far as I know, none of the other skulls that will become enabled after each round have been leaked. Some skulls might only allow enemies to be killed by melee attacks, some might make the enemies stronger. These skulls enabled after each set are there to make it harder on the group playing. They change the flow of the game, so that each set's gameplay is different than the next. But this is where you come in, this thread is for you to come up with Firefight skull ideas. Think of innovative, new ideas. Remember though, skulls are meant to make it tougher, and to mix up gameplay. Silly ideas like "The ODST's turn into Slowpokes" or "Shooting a Grunt in the head will award each player with a pet Slowpoke" will not flow good around here. Skull Name: Don't Forget Friends. Skull Description: You've got ten seconds. Skull Image: A skull behind another skull slightly offset. Skull Effect: Each wave of enemies comes ten seconds after the last regardless of how many are left from the previous wave. Skull Score Multiplier: x2
Skull Name: Paintball Skull Description: All we have left are these paintballs. Use them wisely. Skull Image: A paint splatter on a skull. Skull Effects: Bullets do less damage, but leave a colorful mark. Skull Score Multiplier: 3x

Skull image: A gravity hammer Skull effect: All brute enemies are chieftains. Skull multiplier: 3x Skull name: Aegis Skull description: Some things, well some things go unrewarded. Skull image: Half of a skull Skull effect: Shields/Health regenerates twice as fast Skull multiplier: 0.5x Skull name: Combustion Skull description: Light it up! Skull image: A match Skull effect: All grenades dropped are flame grenades Skull multiplier: 0.5x Skull name: Ow Skull description: Splat. Skull image: A ghost boosting forward Skull effect: Enemies can only be killed via splatter or stick. Skull multiplier: 3x I have a couple others thought up but these were my favorites.

Skull Score Multiplier: 3x Skull Name: Flood Warning Skull Description: It has a center, a mind... Skull Image: A flood infection form. Skull Effects: Causes the Flood to appear in the next round instead of the Covenant. Skull Score Multiplier: 1x Skull Name: Fear Skull Description: Do you like horror movies? Skull Image: Two red eyes... Skull Effects: Makes everything darker, creepier sound effects, grunts do not talk and footsteps are louder. Skull Score Multiplier: 1x Skull Name: Reality Skull Description: This is not a game... Skull Image: A / with binary code on one side and the sun on the other side. Skull Effects: Health regenerates slower, there is no HUD, (not like the Blind skull, you can still see your gun and weapon scopes still look the same)bullet damage is increased, teammates do not have waypoints, and friendly fire is enabled. First the multiplier would have to be around 10000x, since there are more than a hundred enemies in each round. Second, **** THAT WOULD BE SO ****ING HARD UNLESS WE HAD A BIGGER THAN A SCARAB SCARAB.

The 2x multiplier would be OK if the Scarab was worth 50 points. =) And it wouldn't be too hard if one of the players had a LOT of rockets. =/
It kinda would if it's the Halo 3 Scarab. How do you get on it without getting blown up? And the Halo 2 ones indestructible for no apparent reason. Lol.
