This is my first post on Forgehub so please don't be hard on me! Scorpion Ranch is a large, symmetric map is made on the floor of Sandbox! It took me around 41 hours to make and it was all worth it! Made for 6 to 8 players, Scorpion Ranch is played by its height and area. I added long ranged weapons, such as the sniper and Br, for players who like distant battles. Scorpion Ranch is filled with open plains and long pathways, as for tight corridors and cramped spots for your favorite fighting conditions! Use the lift, ramps, or walkways to gain height on your opponents. Team Slayer and Multi Flag are recommended. Thank you for taking the time to view my map. This map is great! I really like the variety of the fighting areas and the ways you pulled them together. Great job. I was looking at the equipment map, however, and there seems to be a lot of equipment for the size of this map. How does this play out? Beside that one point, I will say good job! 9/10
Why would anyone even think about being hard on you!? Welcome to forgehub! Your first map kicks serious A$$ and the design in the middle is great. I love the building leading to the highest point, it looks like an intense control point and is totally done great. The bases are a little simple but look natural for the map. The obelisk and block design is sweet along with the lift design. I'm downloading and am totally excited! WOOOT!!! EDIT: I disagree with the base design after playing the map for a bit. However, your forging was super good and the map pwned in that aspect. I would tweak the bases and keep the lines of sight about the same. Great map though, I'll keep it on my harddrive =D
welcome to forgehub. nice map you got here. the only thing that caught my eye was that circular thing that you call the 'center crater'. the map looks really clean but the only thing i don't like about it is that it looks like you over-did it with the colums but that might just be me. good idea with only putting 1 spare clip in the sniper rifle so that it doesn't overpower the map. i'm not sure about the spawns. it might be a good idea to put the sniper on the bases because if the other team controlls the top of the map they would pretty much dominate. anyways it seems like a good map 8/10
by equipment i'm guessing u mean nades and overshield... they work great in this map! it enables people to get that little advantage over thier opponent by nading them in the open. if your a good nader, then this map is perfect. the thing about this map is that that top level is a good way to kill your opponents but i built it so there isn't that much cover. lets say the red team got control of the top lift ledge and had both snipers... the blue team could stay in the base and br them untill the either die or leave. the red doesnt have a ton of cover but they do still have a slight advantage over the blue!to sum it all up, higher grounds is an advantage, but with minimal cover it's not overpowering at all! i used alot of colums not in the sence of "they look cool" but in the sense of i tried to make them look more like support beams holding up the ramp. my first idea with them was to make it look kind of like the golden gate bridge! The reason why the bases look simple is because of 2 things... first off i ran out of objects to put on my map and had to build 2 bases with 32 pieces. secondly when i was testing this map in an earlier version, people tended to fight in the middle structures and not the bases. i thought if the bases where not going to be used that much in gameplay, then i can just make them a starting point and have them look good in the process!!!
