    -THIS MAP IS BEING PUT ON HOLD. I'VE BEEN VERY BUSY WITH SCHOOL AND ALL. YOU CAN STILL SUGGEST IDEAS [if this thread isn't locked], BUT THIS MAP MAY NOT BE FINISHED UNTIL MID-TO-LATE SEPTEMBER.

    I've got a few pics of a map I've been working on for a while. I need your opinion on the weapons layout, cover, design, and map in general. I haven't tested this map yet.

    It is my first major project.

    Here are the pics:
    I edited the pics to make them look fancy.
    And btw, does the map seem power-weapon hungry?

    The map looks pretty good. If your concerned about the map being over powered, all i can say is i think that so far you have done a pretty nice job on balancing out the map. Although i think you should take out the shotgun on the map since i only see one of the red side... As for cover i think that the walkways could use a whole lot more, since alot of the map is a bit empty adding cover to the blue walkway and such would help. Good luck on the map.

    I put the shotgun on the red side as a defensive weapon for playing one flag. I thought it would make it more challenging for the defenders to capture the flag that way.

    As for cover, I'm not done forging this map yet. i was thinking about adding some low cover [the obelisks are meant to break the line of sight].

    To me, it looks like it will play well, and pleases me aesthetic-wise. My only comment is that it would be better if you turn that spiral staircase into a ramp, or replace the block, huges with wedge, long, or wedge, small's if you'd rather keep the staircase.

    Oh yeah, dibs on testing.

    Well, the whole spiral staircase adds to the aesthetic part of the map. It's an old steel mill turned UNSC training camp, so I think the spiral staircase works well with the map. My idea was to turn the staircase into a sniper tower.

    And thanks for offering to test. I'm thinking about playing team doubles, one flag doubles, and 3v3. I'll set up a date and time when I have enough people. And yes, I know about the FH Testers Guild.

    What I forgot to say, was that the staircase would work well, if there was a power weapon on top. Oh yes, and when you place the weapon on the staircase, since it's a doubles map, make the power weapon have 0 extra clips. It'll play better, trust me.

    Thanks for the idea, I will try it out. And also, I was thinking of replacing the shotgun at red base with a brute shot w/ no clips and a 90 second spawn.

    The geometery looks interesting, but it lacks diversity. One thing I don't like is the blue tower. It has many jumps and looks like it would generally play bad. Also, the blue side needs to be developed more. Meaning, it is just a view flat areas with not much there.

    As for weapons, you may want to up the times on OV and Shotgun. Also, rockets is very close to OV.

    I'm currently adding ramps to the staircase. I'm not going to scrap the idea of the spiral staircase; I think it makes this map really unique. I am also working on cover, but I'm not sure if I should make it aesthetically a part of the map. One of the pieces of cover I have now is half of a tube piece with a ramp leading inside, so you could use it for cover in multiple ways.

    And I have already upped the OV to a 90 second spawn. As for the rockets being close to the OV, i don't know where else to put the rockets. I want it to be in the middle of the map, and I want just the same for the OV. Right now, it takes 6 seconds from the starting points on each team to get to the rockets, and about 10 seconds to get to the OV. Perhaps I could make a lower tunnel with the rockets?

    Far to many weapons,unless you want everyone with a BR/carbine and a power weapon,tune it down. In my openion a team doubles map should focas more on the smaller,duel-weldable weapons.
    maybe a shotty in the middle,and a set of SMG's and a BR and a carbine in each base.

    Like I said, I am still working on this map. At first, it was a mid-sized 4v4 map. When that didn't work, I took away half of the map and built on from there. I just moved all the weapons into the smaller part.

    Currently, I have taken out 1 BR on each side, I have switched the red shotty with a BS, took out 2 plasmas on each side, and taken away the needler on blue [which I might bring back, because I played a little 2v2 match and it was perfectly balanced] with 2 SMGs.

    But I really might bring back all the original weapons, because if you could read well, you would notice all the power weapons have 1 or 0 clip and 90-120 second spawns, so either way, most of the combat would be BR-oriented.

    and maybe an occasional pillar or something here and there. Theres nothing to try and run to. Just 100% pure firefight.

    Weapons are fine.

    Turn blue tower steps into a winding ramp-like structure.

    Look at pic 4, I has 2 railings ^^

    Is that a good thing?

    I fail at forging [I've been trying to do that for a few hours now and I'm still not satisfied with the result], but I'm still trying to do that. It was my idea from the beginning to add ramps, and so far, about 50% of the time I spent on this map is trying to make a spiral staircase with ramps.

    I added ramps once, but you still had to jump to get to the next block. I dunno how to make it so you don't have jump at all. I does not compute.

    I like the looks of it but I think the spiral by the Sniper should be worked on a bit. Jumping up things like that feels rather clumsy. Anyway nice map! I like how it curves, instead of the linear rectangular Layout.

    More railings. As many as you can possibly put in.

    No, you need cover. Not tons of **** randomly placed everywhere, but the occasionally well placed pillar will save your life.

    I've been working on the spiral staircase for a while now. And that was my goal form the beginning, to make a unique map.

    K, I've put railings just about everywhere. And I'm working on cover now... it's actually one of the harder parts of making the map because of the map's retarded shape.

    i think aesthetically its looks pretty cool, the whole mill thing...
    it also looks really unique in its structure.
    IMO though it looks a little cramped like

    Red Team ----> DEATH BY POWER WEAPONS<---- blue team

    whereas it would be better if it was

    exciting and unque fun in all directions
