thnks ive been wondering about that lol

but if there is a God then He wouldnt let his story be manipulated so i think it is safe to say the Bible is a reliable source

and for those of u who dont believe in God, the Bible is contained of stories that have been confirmed (by the authors) by countless eye witnesses (this is more true in the New Testament), and if the authors did fib, somebody would have called them out on it

Haha, Im in church right now and my priest is preaching how we have souls. He says that when we die, we die the way our last appearance was. He mentioned Atheists can't wake up and smell the coffee. I think we already have.

Yes it is true. You think that only humans have souls. ( BTW now my priest just threw the Hell theory out in front of our faces. You know, if you don't forgive then you 'get locked up' for eternity. Why threaten us like this? Trying to strengthen our faith with fear is wrong. Yes, when you die, it's the end. We are not cocky at all, but completely realistic human beings.

What do you mean? The hundreds of eyewitnesses could have been sensored, or could have agreed to the supernatural. What if some random dude placed his hands on you and said, you'll be healed and it happened several days later out of probability? Course someone could turn it around and say you were instantly healed by this person. Why would you care?

Well wait, we're all people. There are good and bad people in every belief system, every government, every race. To pin the acts of extremists on a religion as a whole is not representative of its good members.

There isn't any real weight behind that point though. You're just saying religion has spawned some evil entities, which is true, but it has also created good things. Every group has their good and bad. Again, you can't pin the past actions of some on everyone.

(But doing good stuff doesn't mean you are the chosen righteous ones either.)

let me get to that lol

evean though all those extremists and stuff, religeon is very cultral and sometimes peaceful, and more cultral the country is, the more tourists there are, and the more tourists there are, the more money there is, and the more money there is, the better the military/country/economy

To be clear, these are not good points.

Would you grow up a little? Sarcastic pithy little comments like this don't belong in the debate section.

I've got a few little tips for you:

    • Don't talk down to people who show more reason and respect to debating than yourself.

    • Learn the meaning of the words "open-minded". Seriously, find a dictionary.

    • Don't call people "dumbass" because they don't agree with you. You are an idiot ERICO, and you show no respect to people who don't immediately share your opinions. I pity you.

    Yes, it really was.

Did any of you people know how many Christians there are in China Even though its Illegal there?

Over 70,000,000. That is WAY more than any other country's Christian Population COMBINED. People die for God over there. Even owning a bible will give the Chinese Government the rights to Slaughter, Torture and Hang Chinese Citizens,

    Did he have specific information?

I could say, "Tomorrow, someone will be saved by medicine!"
It could occur on the other side of the world, but either way it's essentially the same thing.

yes he did have specific information on all of the accounts, someone would travel to him asking to heal their ____(family member), Jesus would say it is done and the traveler would travel back for about a day and they would have learned that the sick was healed about the time Jesus said he would b healed

Just because a bunch of people follow something doesn't validate it.

Chuck, almost all your points so far have been based on you thinking that the bible and accounts of Jesus are true. If you could recognize that we can't take the bible at face value, and bring some new arguments that take our perspective into account, we could make some progress.

Whenever Erico comes back... he left out 3/4 of my big post from last night. And that's not fair. I thought I made some good logical arguments in it. Please feel free to debunk them all. I'll put them in a quote here:

Please respond Erico, or whoever wants to respond. I just want to see my points debunked.

    purexist....

i was just clearing up some bible info

but if u want to see my arguement about y there should be, has to, and is a God scroll back a few pages where i was arguing with dow

but really, if u believe in God just a little u will start to understand about him more and u will keep believing more.... i have tried, thought, and pondered about if there wasnt a God, and everytime i come to the conclusion that He does exist,

so if ive tried to believe that there isnt a God, then the least any of you can do is to try to believe that there is, it seems only fair...

and if none of you can look around at the perfection of the world we live in and still not believe that it has a creator for its design.... i pitty you, because there is nothing anyone can do for you until you yourself believe

See, that's just the thing, Chuck.. when I look at the world around me, my brain doesn't just leap to the conclusion that all this must be created. I see what I can see, and I know that there is incredible complexity beyond what I can see, and that that continues into space and the universe further than anyone can even imagine. The conclusion that this was made for our benefit by a petulant god that demands saccharine worship, can be swayed by prayers, and tortures and destroys for no reason at all, cheapens the whole experience for me. Imagine your brain when you think of nature... All neural pathways end up at one little neuron, that says, wow, god did that. Now imagine the brain of someone with open eyes that sees all that science and the natural world have to offer, and how many amazing things there is to know, without ever worrying about the conclusion that it's all made for us.. who would have the more fulfilling, intellectually stimulating life? I can see how your brain works, and I don't need your pity, because the universe is so much larger than a petty anthropocentric deity.
