Well obviously the key feature to this map was the broken bridge. But 2 questions: 1)Being that the map is symmetrical does that mean even the broken parts of the bridge are symmetrical too? 2)Is there any real purpose to the bridge besides aesthetics? And is it easy to reach, without having to specially go out of your way to make that bridge jump or whatever.
Might as well answer these since I just got done playing this map. 1) The broken parts of the bridge are symmetrical. 2) I don't know if this map is compatible with King of the Hill but if it is, the bridge would seem like the most likely spot to control. Possibly a gametype revolving around it?
3 Pages in like what? A day? I saw the sketchup of this, and I thought you were posting an infection map last night, am I wrong? Anyways, the map looks great. There was so many things wrong with the first forging I saw of this (the bridge was on the ground.). So I generally thought that it would end up being a base-vs-base. But so it ended up, better than most highway maps (or at least what I've seen). And as always, I'm just going to post my normal review. Gameplay- 9.8/10 Aesthetics- 10/10 Forging 101- 9/10 Overall- 9.5/10 I'd say, this is a great map. You've my DL.
I just wanna say thanks again too all of u that downloaded I promise when I come back I will make better maps and I will make a remake of this since people liked it so much after I complete my other projects and my skills get better to making smoother and better building designed map sorry I can't stick around cya someday oh and enjoy
Lol yes im on an enchanted journey to flourish my forging skills jk. I've gone back to college and my xbox 360 broke plus I don't really have time to play games at school so thats why I won't be only for a long time. Then to top all that off the connection sucks at school so even if I did have my xbox nothing would change. Its ok cause I still have Google sketch so I will continue to make map layouts sometimes when I have nothing else to do
Wow. This map is incredible. In-f***ing-credible. The bridge actually looks like a destroyed bridge, and I just about had a forge-gasm when I saw the red base. The gameplay looks great, and you can haz download. Also, FEECHURE NAO!!1!111!
I remember seeing this in forge discussion I couldn't wait for you to finish it It looks f-ing awesome can't wait to play it I can tell I will really enjoy playing this Well f-ing done
I gotta say this map looks great, but just dont see any reason for anyone using a warthog on the bridge. If would make the bridge continue more towards the bases.
When I play customs on this map, its usually used by vehicles to get a better vantage point for the gunner when taking out snipers in the towers, as well as just a fun place to drive on. Plus, teams would usually try to control the bridge in slayer games, making the warthog a great weapon in causing confusion to whatever teams controlling said bridge by driving straight through the team on it.
Amazing looking map, great geomerging with the bridge and it sort of looks like the highway from the campaign. The bases also look amazing, looks like you have spent alot of time on the whole map. i give it a 5/5 good job and keep forging!
Awesome. Been waiting for some more campaign inspired maps, especially BTB ones and it looks like you have constructed a great one. Some fantastic aesthetics and looks like it will play well. DLed EDIT: After a runthrough, I was dissapointed to find that man things were not as smooth as the could be. The design of the map overall is quite strong, there are just a few things that could have been executed better. I came across places where grenades could fall through cracks more than once, and the floors tend to bump you around
I played this map more then a couple of times with some friends from H3ITWP and have to say the map is very nice. Weapons were easy to find, astetically the map was beautiful, and it played very well. Great job on a well designed map. Only real feedback i might have is that it seemd the snipers were spawning awfully quick but I didn't get a chance to go into forge and check it out yet.
This is probably one of the best put together maps I have ever seen. The Structures look great, there are no noticeable flaws in your geo-merging. I'll give this one a download, it would go great with some Choppers on it.
I would like to make a note that the Warthog's are overpowered because of the lack of Missle Pods or Splaser. Rockets just don't always cut it when playing with them. Aside from that, the map plays great. The weapon placement could have been a little better though (I edited the map and placed snipers down below the towers instead of in them. The games flow way better with it like that whenever I play.)
Thanks, and about Choppers I have an unreleased version with choppers but I thought there would be too many vehicles and people would not like it. Im 3 objects away from the OLN Object Limit but there are some left over items in the sealed crypt. 2 Regen, 2 Rocket Pods, 2 Power Drainer, 2 Mongooses, 2 Choppers, 1 Rocket Launcher and 1 Laser I think. lol I think I put the sniper respawn a 3 mins and the Rockets at 150 sec but I dunno check it out in forge.
This map just gave me an EYE-GASM! And that saying alot considering how many maps I've seen and played on. Firstly, I want to commend you on finally pulling off the first(to me) proper Sandbox highway-themed map. Everything just looks amazing! I think that the sniper towers could be an easy spot to camp in, but then again, I could be wrong. The weapon layout looks nice and strong, and I believe that gameplay on this map will be just as solid. However, I feel that the bridge should be made more accessible, via gravlifts of mancannons. Oh and like some others have said, 'Standoff 2' looks a little iffy. Overall, great map, great job and I'm definitely downloading this. Looking forward to a V2!
Unlike most who posted here, I actually downloaded and played the map, and I can say, while the aesthetics are top-notch, I found gameplay to be about par. It was alright, but I've played much better. First off, in between the bases and the bridge, all there is is geomerged clutter which, while it looks nice, makes warthog driving on this map a nightmare and causes lots of jumping. Jumping breaks flow, which is why on default maps you can access ANY (Go on Guardian or Epitaph and see for yourself) area without aid of jumping. So personally I'd cut down on the clutter caused by all the merged items. The one other thing I found was, while I did alright in this aspect, some people were confused by the bases. Our flag carrier had to try three different entrances before reaching the capture point. A grav lift might improve both aspects of traversing the map and navigating the bases. The last thing which worried me was the middle line. Just below the bridge you have overshield, camo, rockets, and two brute shots. When a team controls the middle, a team is basically forced to just hide in their base and the game becomes very one-sided. One alternative which might work is a grav lift by rocket spawn, brute shots remaining in their original spot, and overshield and camo are moved towards one base or the other. Anyways, it was still a fun map, but regardless of what the screenshot-trolls might say, gameplay could still use some work.
Yea I agree with all of you about Standoff 2 i wish I could of done more but I like 3 objects away from OLN limit when I make a version 2 Ill design a more pleasing structure. H3C x Nevz I probably should of posted this one in aesthetic maps lol I'll kinda admit that's wat I was shooting for but I'll work on making my maps favor gameplay in the future I just love aesthetics
