Just because some kids get a little hyper because of a game doesn't mean to say they will grow up to be serial killers. Besides it may mean they will grow up to join the army.

    I say yes..

I mean, just google angry gamers... games obviously get people addicted and the result is anger when they can't play it... or if they're hooked too long they become angry at small things... So yes it makes them angrier.. not all people.. but a lot.

Alright, now here's your next question. Could video games promote violence on a higher level where the gamer would perform extremely violent acts (assault, murder, etc.)?

    Did Hitler play Halo 3?

    Case closed.

OF COURSE NOT, THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS ARGUEMENT I HAVE HEARD IN MY LIFE.

Does a video game cause violence, no MENTAL CONDITIONS do! Do games bring out those mental conditions? Maybe, who knows, but I am sure without a doubt that they will see scary films or programs with violence in that could also bring these conditions out. Anything with violence in can cause violence if the person is stupid enough to think, CHOPPING PEOPLES HEAD OF WITH A CHAINSAW IS NORMAL :)

You should probably read my post again. I never took sides in that post, no reason to go on a flame rant. And I don't disagree with you.

    Hitler had only one testicle

    So did Napolean

The moral. People with one testicle are more likely to be serial killers than people who play violent video games. Case Truely Closed.

Well not quite. A person I personally knew had divorced parents. His mom wasn't quite stable and she herself was abused as a child. Now this kid was a good friend of mine for 7 years and he wasn't exactly the stable type. He often fought with his mom, and close to the end of our friendship, wrote a rap about how his mom was "A ****ing ***** and she was a hore". Around this time, he would often go up to my mom to show his grades to her and was generally happy doing this. Our friendship went downhill when we got in an argument about a card game. He grew extremely angry at me and jumped at me and began to choke me. Luckily, I kicked him off and was able to run out of the house ( it was another neighbors house, we were a triangle of friends) I avoided him as much as possible from then on and my bro became pissed at him and avoided him as well. He went on to egg my friends house, whom he was friends with as well when they stopped hanging around with him as well. We all eventually moved off the street.

Nowadays, he's more relaxed. It's been 4 years since that incident. He went to therapy and changed. BUT, yes he did play violent video games, but the divorce had the greatest effect on him I believe.

Therefore, rising numbers of divorced couples create angry children if parents don't take the situation seriously.

True. It's not just divorce though. Both parents can still be married and together raise a child with less competence than a single parent family. Both environmental and hereditary factors play into how susceptible you are to violence. Violent video games just elevates that level of violence, it does not create it.

But I still disagree that video games do elevate violence with the people who play them. It might be the tiniest factor. In fact, Im glad someone else pulled up the thread showing the study conducted at a university, where videogames had absolutely no affect on the subjects behavior.

Besides, divorced kids turn out normal, but there isn't a set statistic for this. It truely does depend on the factors that parents bring in play along with disabilities.

My brother is 10. He plays Gears of war two and I havent had my body mutialted by a chainsaw... yet. So my opinion so far is that as long as the parents actually teach the kids it perfectly fine to play call of duty 4 or halo 3

As long as they don't get so into it it affects their interaction with other humans, I totally agree.

I think violent games are a good thing. You can either rage online, shooting a guy, or mash a guy in real life. Which is better?

Ok heres how I see it:
thats like blaming the baseball bat making you crap at baseball
or blaming video games for your violence is like blaming food for making you fat

    ever see in the news:
"and today a man killed 4 people, must have been those video games"
Me loves the video games but i haven't been in a fight for years. nuff said.

I can see how it would if 2 kids played halo, saw the arby use his kick ass sword moves on the prophet and though "hey pass the knife lets see if it'd look cool in my garden" but then again, if they get the knife, wtf are the parents doing not hiding knifes out of reach if they'd do that?

This seems one of those things where either people who dont like video games, or people where they have dragged there kids up (probably through there half assed parenting) and gone "hes not one of them smart people in white coats, must be something wrong. *scratches head* i know dem z-box games. blame dem so i think even though i parent good dey turn out bad"

.... unless they have a mental break down and try to copy video games when there in there 30s.... then maybe something else went wrong...
